Tip of the Day! Booking Your Orlando Villa

Villas can be great for Families and Groups.

With properties located close to all the main attractions such as Walt Disney World Resort, UK tour operator Florida Villa Options are specialists in villa holidays in Orlando for families.

TIP 1: It's Your Birthday!

If it is your birthday be sure to get a Birthday badge from guest services, it will make the whole experience much better with Cast Members making more fuss of you. You will probably get a number of birthday gifts if you are lucky. In restaurants you will quite likely be presented with a cup cake with a candle on it. If you want a proper birthday cake you can have one delivered to your table in most Disney restaurants, you will need to provide 48hrs notice and be sure to remind the restaurant staff when you arrive.
Note: the picture is a birthday pin that you can buy from PinTraders in Downtown Disney and not the same as the one you will get from guest services.

TIP 2: Ride Late in the Day

Lots of rides have much shorter lines later in the day. You can even get to ride a number of times in quick succession if you time it all right. If you don't want to see the fireworks, try riding whilst the firework show is on, or just before whilst everybody else is waiting for the firework show to start.

TIP 3: Buffet Breakfasts are great for Kids!

Buffet breakfasts are great for kids at the start of the day.

The buffet breakfast at Crystal Palace, Magic Kingdom is particularly good with Winnie the Pooh characters in attendance.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort also has a buffet breakfast with characters in attendance.

Both of these normally have to be booked in advance especially during busy periods.

The advantage of the buffet breakfast is that the kids can pick and choose what they want and will generally get a good start to the day. It also means that if they don't like what they have in front of them then they can go and get something else.

TIP 4: It Does Rain in Florida Sometimes!

During summer months you can expect a short, heavy shower late in the day on most days. Occasionally it might rain for a good part of the day (it does happen now and again).

Disney Quest is a superb all day indoor venue. There is a huge range of Video arcade type games along with some other interative activities. The Pirates of the Caribbean 'ride' is particularly good. Once you get into Disney Quest everything except food and drink is free unless you wish to purchase artwork that you create. You can easily spend a full day in Disney Quest, open generally at 10 or 11:00am and closes about 11:00pm depending on season etc. Check times locally.

If you want a Lightweight raincoat that can easily be carried in a backpack or on a belt, check these out:

TIP 5: Downtown Disney by Car

When visiting Downtown Disney, try to decide where you will end the visit eg Market place or West side, and park your car at that location. If you are staying in a Disney resort use the Disney Transport to get to the Downtown area.

TIP 6: Free Drink Refills

Most restaurants provide free refills on soft drinks, buy the regular size and get frequent refills rather than paying extra for the large. If you are cheeky get your kids to share a drink!!!

Also fill your drink bottle before you leave, this can save you loads over the duration of your trip. If you are in a restaurant that does not have take away beakers pour anything your kids don't drink into their bottle before you go.

TIP 7: Drink Plenty of Water

When it is hot, drink plenty of water, this will be much more refreshing than soft drinks and soda.
You can refill a water bottle from the water fountains.

TIP 8: Use the Disney Resort Facilities

If you are staying in a Disney Resort you are able to use the facilities in the other resorts as well. So even if you are staying in the cheapest Disney Resort, you can use the facilities in the most expensive resort. for example if you enjoy relaxing by the pool, you could do a tour of the different resort pools.

TIP 9: Take your Locker from Park to Park

If you rent a locker in one park and then move on to another park, show your receipt as this will allow you to rent a locker in the second park at a reduced rate.

TIP 10: Ride Up Front on the Monorail

Ask a cast member at the monorail stations, and if possible you will get to ride up front with the driver.

TIP 11: Fully Booked Restaurants

If a restaurant is fully booked, see if you can return later to take the table of a party that has finished early.

TIP 12: 3D Attractions

Different seating positions with in the 3D theatres will give slightly different experiences. If you don't get the full experience try seeing the show again but sit closer or further away from the stage.

TIP 13: Single Rider will Save you Time

If you don't mind riding with other people, use the single rider line, you will get on the ride quicker.

TIP 14: There is more than just Shows and Rides

Watch out for all the little extras that are always going on around the parks, there is a lot to see besides the rides and the shows.

TIP 15: Don't Rush - Take your Time

Take your time to enjoy everything, don't rush from attraction to attraction, as this will make your experience less enjoyable.

TIP 16: Meeting Characters

Use your Photopass when greating characters. Make sure you have an autograph book to get all the character autographs.

TIP 17: Help Kids to Enjoy EPCOT

In Epcot go to the Kids stops marked on the park map. They have masks to colour in and emblems to collect from each country.

TIP 18: Visit all the EPCOT Countries

Purchase an Epcot Passport book and get it stamped in each country. This can be done at the Kidcot stops and makes visiting the countries more enjoyable for children.

TIP 19: Get a Centre Seat for Shows

Don't rush to be the first to get into the theatres, doing this usually means you will end up sitting to one side. Let other people go in first and then choose a row that is filling up. By the time you sit down you should be near the middle of the row.
