The BD-Live Blu-Ray Disc Player
What is BD-Live? It's a new technology that connects Blu-ray discs with the internet. The recent Disney release of "Sleeping Beauty" has BD-Live. You and your son or daughter or grandma for that matter, can watch the movie and chat together even if you're miles away via a laptop, P.D.A. or cellphone. Comments made by anyone in the group appear on the screen while the movie is playing.
This new technology comes about because of the new generation that enjoys interacting and social networking. If a parent can't be there to watch the movie with their child, they'll have the ability to record a video message and it will pop up during a designated scene as the child views the movie. Viewers will also be able to compete against others at trivia with anyone in the world.
Double check the product description and capabilities when purchasing a Blu-Ray Disc Player. Many of the current Blu-ray machines that are out, do not support the new BD-Live. The only machines are Sony's PlayStation 3, the Sony Blu-Ray Players and Panasonic's DMP-BD50K model, which is listed at around $400. Look for the prices to come down.
Disney and other studios are hoping this new BD-Live will spark an interest in the Blu-ray market. So far there are now over 1300 titles that offer Blu-Ray. Get yours for Christmas and experience the difference.

Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth. Wall-E is a great family film with the most impressive aspect being the depth of emotion conveyed by a simple robot--a machine typically considered devoid of emotion, but made so absolutely touching by the magic of Pixar animation. Also well-worth admiring are the sweeping views from space, the creative yet disturbing vision of what strange luxuries a future space vacation might offer, and the innovative use of trash in a future cityscape. Underneath the slapstick comedy and touching love story is a poignant message about the folly of human greed and its potential effects on earth and the entire human race.
