An inexpensive but effective ear cleaner can be made at home by mixing 1/2 warm water with 1/2 white vinegar. This solution can be used as an ear infection prevention, or to get rid of an ear infection. If your dog currently has an infection, clean the ears 2-3 times a day with this solution. It's best to apply with a cotton ball, allowing some of the mixture to seep down into the ear canal.

Yogurt has acidophilus in it, which helps to balance out the good an bad bacteria, discouraging yeast infections from taking hold.
