Strolling with Dachshunds Cross Country

Considering a trip with your dogs may cause a bit of anxiety. Yikes! But don't despair, with a little guidance and some great products now available, you and your buddies can make the trip a memorable, safe and stress free one.

For instance, choosing the right dog stroller will not only save you money as it easily converts to a terrific looking handheld carrier or tote from the sturdy method of moving your best friend from place to place.

We learned as we stopped along the way, it was a good thing we had our cool little convertable dog stroller then. We learned and appreciated how remarkable these items were as it came time to get out for some exercise or walk the dogs from time to time. The stroller gave us control and kept our little guys safely zippered in warm, and comfortably secure, away from the 18 wheelers roaring by. When arriving at the hotel, we ushered our babies into the carrier section. Zipped them in again. Attached the carrier to the stroller frame and wheeled them through hotel check-in. As we settled into the room for the night, we simply removed the carrier section. It became a cozy dog house, a home away from home. And the stroller frame? It folded easily and stored in a corner of the room or under the bed until it was time to move out again. While on the road, the frame tucked away conveniently in the back of the SUV too.

Our trip went along smoothly and without a hitch. The dogs were comfortable and we all enjoyed the trip. When our venture was over we realized then that these two little guys were really outstanding troopers all the way.

This is How it all Began

When we were transferred from the West to the East coast, we quickly had to find a safe and comfortable way to get our two Dachshunds across the country as well. After a bit of research such as airline procedures or hotel accommodations, available pet travel gear, strollers, carriers and even anxiety meds, we all did just fine and have learned that there are many enjoyable memories and reasons why when we travel today, the first thing that we consider is taking the dogs.

Our Best Friends

We love our Dachshunds because they provide us unconditional love and companionship. Our story begins with a transfer across country. When the orders came in, it seemed a mountain load of things to do was instantly levied upon us. Naturally our babies were at the top of the list of priorities. This transfer and finding the best way to get them to our new home opened up a whole new world to us. We discovered a variety pet travel gear. We also discovered a huge community of like-minded warm-hearted pet owners who enjoyed traveling with their pets as well. At that point a spark ignited and ADogGoneStore.com was born.

My Legs are too Small and My Body is Too Long!

We have two short legged hounds. With that said, although their vet recommends daily exercise, they tire easily with too lengthly an excursion. For that reason alone, a pet stroller is a lifesaver for all. They get tired....they hop into to their roomy safe place for the rest of the way. Meanwhile we continue with our jog. This keeps our doc happy too.

Dog Strollers? Really!

You've GOT to be kidding!

THere are loads of them in South Florida, and it just seems strange to me to see people taking dogs for a walk in a STROLLER! Also, you see people out walking, and they are holding their dogs. I just find it weird that dogs are treated like babies, carried around, and also dressed up in little outfits. I don't think it's something I will ever get used to.

No, they are quite benficial.

I have the same problem. Doc order me a lot of needed excersice and so do my dogs. I'm glad I found this lens and what maybe the answer to my weight and the dogs too.

Hey guy, thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.

It may have seemed like it on your end, but we did get the duel, thanks again.

Dogs all dressed up to the tees and being strolled around was something Tim just couldn't debate with me and keep a straight face. That's why I think I especially chose to pursue this path. Got to keep um laughing, right?

Nice lens, 5***** Good job on I hope the first of many.

I tried to add to the duel, but it wouldn't register - does that sometimes unfortunately...
I don't think I will ever get used to the idea of dog strollers, and they have a lot here in South Florida. To me a dog is meant to walk, not be pushed around like a baby, dressed up in little outfits, or carried everywhere. It's just too weird for me...
