Doll Collecting 101 - All About Collecting Dolls

The first doll I ever owned was an old "sleepy-head" doll from my Aunt Frances. When I was learning to speak, I named the doll Fee Faw because I couldn't say "Frances." As a child I received a Madame Alexander doll from my Aunt Caddy, and a Tiny Tears from my parents, but the doll I loved the very most was the blond ponytail Barbie doll I received for my 7th birthday. I still have all my old dolls... except my beloved Barbie doll collection. These dolls started me on my life-long love of dolls.

During the 1990s, I was a regular contributor to Miller's Fashion Doll Magazine and a staff writer for Barbie Bazaar Magazine. Today I continue writing articles for various publications and am the Doll Collecting Examiner.

The Doll Collecting 101 lens will be a clearing house for information about collecting dolls with articles, photos, and other information. Although much of the information will apply to all types of dolls, there will be a focus on fashion dolls including Barbie, Gene, Tyler and other fashion dolls.
