Do the Right Thing by Mike Huckabee
Ranked #8,995 in Books, Poetry & Writing, #313,575 overall | Donates to Donors Choose
Huck-a-Book: So, what's it all about?
But Huckabee had one big advantage: a common sense message that connected with millions of people, and not just his fellow evangelical Christians. He spoke about family values, fair taxes, and helping hard-working, middle-class Americans in a tough economy. And to the dismay of some Republicans, he talked about fighting Wall Street greed and K Street corruption.
Huckabee shocked the country by winning the all-important Iowa caucuses and seven other states, while spending far less than the other major candidates. He created an army of passionate volunteers and small donors, transforming his campaign into a true movement that will endure long after Election Day.
Do The Right Thing is Huckabee's amazing story, in his own words-from making commercials with Chuck Norris to meeting a Michigan woman who insisted on donating her wedding ring. But this is more than just a campaign memoir. It's a vision for a smarter, fairer type of politics-"vertical politics"-that focuses on common sense solutions for education, health care, the economy, and many other issues. It's not about right versus left; it's about taking America up rather than down.
Huckabee also shows how the Republican Party can heal its divisions-between social and fiscal conservatives, the wealthy and the middle class, the religious and the secular-and become a true majority party again.
We book publicists at Penguin wanted to put this lens together to organize some of the ideas, media, and resources that we're using to promote Huckabee's book. And, of course, to help you find it better online! We hope you have fun.
Something else you'll find here is... how you can grab your chance to meet the Governor face to face!

- Hi I need conservative lenses at my group. Please click on my profile and send them my way if you want. You can be like Alan Colmbs is on Fox, the only dissenter!! Lol.
I have a conservative featured lens cluster that is empty. I like some of Pat Buchanans ideas. I am anti neocon but not necessarily anti conservative.

- WTG with this super lens! I haven't read his book yet, but have a coupon burnin' a hole in my pocket. ;-) 5* and my faves.
Why is it that Americans always want honesty, integrity, intelligence, fairness, courage, and compassion in a candidate, but object when those very characteristics stem from their "religion"? Hm-m?

I hope your can rebuild your reputation by combining your proven initiative, energy and tenacity with fairness, truth and decency. Just don't overdo it on the religion, OK?

- While he may have some great ideas on improving our nation, I think the powerhold of religious conservatives is gone for good. I don't think he'll ever be elected as president for that reason alone. Religion does not belong in government! He'd be better off helping Obama in his administration, perhaps with tax regulations or helping with reducing poverty, and helping citizens to become or remain active in creating change.

- If he reads my book, free at www.nopom.info he will have a real campaign platform to use. No taxes at all at any level. No poverty. No unemployment. No debt for anyone. No government regulation of business needed nor attempted. No organized crime. Less pollution. Reduced discrimination. And no more phony political ads.
