My husband has a Gambling Addiction

My husband, who I call Q for his privacy, has a gambling addiction. Downonourluck.com is my blog on how I am recovering emotionally and financially.

I try to work in tips to save money, helpful stories, tips on how I deal with things, and ways you can make a little extra cash online.

I am not a professional psychologist, but if you feel that either you or a loved one needs some professional help, please make sure you seek it.

Recommended books on Amazon that have helped me

So far, this is the only book that I have read; but I highly recommend it. It has definitely helped me a lot.

Free online income sources.

Part of my reason for starting Down On Our Luck was to help me take care of our finance problems. Here are some of the ways that I have been successful with so far.
Big Crumbs
Big Crumbs is great, they pay on the 15th of the month like clockwork. My goal is to get 1 Million referrals, preferably direct. If figure if I make 50 cents from each referral then my debts will be taken care of.
Guess Now
I have not put a lot of time into Guess Now, but I have been fairly successful so far for the amount of work I have done. Part of the problem is that I just don't have the time to sit and answer questions every day. I do try to login everyday so I can get 50 points and then guess at a couple of questions while I'm there.

I have had a couple of irritations with the site lately, which you can read about here, they do seem to be listening though as I have seen some great improvements already.
Squidoo
Squidoo is a major part of my efforts to make enough money to pay our debts. If you have something to share and would like to make a little extra cash, it's definitely something you should sign up and start.

Be Careful, It's Very Addicting! (in a good way)

I worked for several years as an addictions counsellor in the alcohol and drug field. I have often thought about gambling addicts and what it must be like for the family members. I know you have been through many hurdles and much pain. Thank you for sharing your experiences here. I wish you and your husband the best.

Thanks for sharing that Brenda. It takes courage to admit something so personal. My brother went thru fighting that same demon also. He overcame it thru gamblers anonymous and support from his wife. They almost lost their house and now they're saving for a nicer one and staying out of the casinos.

    Best wishes to you both.
