This show is great and is now considered a classic because it was enjoyed by so many during the ten-year long run on NBC. Everyone fell in love with the main characters Ross, Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Rachel. The characters brought a whole bunch of laughs and entertainment. No matter the situation, there was always some comic upside that everyone could feel comfort in knowing it was coming.
This show is about six very close friends living in the same apartment building in Manhattan. They are often seen sitting in the cafe called Central Perk on a big orange colored couch drinking coffee and eating pastries. The show goes through the lives of these six friends and everything they deal with. The audience gets to experience the complicated relationships, quitting bad habits, having kids, marriage and divorce along with the characters.
The show was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman with writing credits to many others. The episode premier was on September 22, 1994 and was a huge success throughout its ten-year long run. The pilot episode had about 18 million viewers and the final episode had about four million tuned in. Many phases and other things seen in the show have been picked up and used world wide, for example: Joey's phrase 'How you doing?' has become a popular part of the Western slang.
The cast includes David Schwimmer and Courtney Cox as the brother and sister characters Ross and Monica Gellar. Rachel Green, Ross' long time love interest and good friend to Monica, is played by Jennifer Aniston. Phoebe Buffay, the slightly air headed singer is played by Lisa Kudrow. Joey Tribbiani, the smooth talking actor, who is best friends with Chandler, is played by Matt Leblanc. Chandler Bing, who is sarcastic and scared of commitment, is portrayed by Matthew Perry.
No credible reviews could be found since the show was cancelled about four years ago. However, The show did win many awards including a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, which was given to Jennifer Aniston. The show and cast have also won countless Emmy award and awards from other countries than the United States. The have also won all of the People's Choice Award that they were nominated for between the years of 1995 to 2004. Not to mention the other 152 awards they were nominated for.
