Dr. Horrible on DVD - Tell your friends...
Released on the Internet on July 15th, Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a superhero musical mini-epic, written and produced by Joss Whedon during the writers strike, with the help of his brothers.
This is a musical comedy in three parts, featuring the wannabe mad scientist Dr. Horrible bent on taking over the world. There is also Penny, the cute girl he really likes but can't talk too, and Captain Hammer who beats him up on a regular basis.
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was streamed for free on the show's official website until July 20th, after which it was available to download from iTunes.
The waiting is finally over - you can now buy Doctor Horrible on an actual DVD from Amazon, as well as download the complete soundtrack as MP3s, or buy it on CD.

The long awaited Dr. Horrible DVD was released for sale on December 19th. Make sure you order it now and select the 2-day delivery option to ensure that it arrives in time for Christmas.
The bonus features have been kept under wraps by the Dr. Horrible team until the DVD is released, but it is certain to include a musical commentary plus 10 entries selected from the hundreds of applications sent to the Evil League of Evil.

What's on the DVD?
The exact details of what is on the DVD is being kept a secret until it's actually released. With a run time is 100 minutes, which means there's 15 minutes of extra content. Joss Whedon commented on his blog about what you might expect to get on it:
"Is it worth fifteen hard-earned dollars? Absolutely. In fact, I can say without reservation that the Dr. Horrible DVD is worth $15.23 EASILY. More, if your dollars weren't the hard-earned kind, just the kind you have lying around in your mom's purse. God knows WE'VE worked hard to earn 'em.
"Commentary! The Musical" is the most painstaking and exhausting piece of whimsey I have ever mistaken for a good idea. It has nearly twice as much music as Dr. Horrible itself -- since you can't really talk that much during a commentary musical or it sounds like a regular commentary. (Which we also have, with the stars and writers, plus making-of's, ELE applications, and a few items left lying around by a notorious Bunny...)
I can say without hesitation that I hesitate to say it's great. And by great I mean ridiculous. It's sophmoric, solopsistic, silly and the most fun I've had being exhausted since the fabled Mushortio itself. And everyone sings beautifully. Which enrages me. I a little bit hate my friends now."
