Dr. Myron Wentz: A Visionary
Dr. Myron Wentz's journey in the field of the life sciences began over three decades ago. His passion in the field was stirred up at the age of 17 when he lost both his parents to degenerative diseases.
He is a world-renowned scientist specializing in the field of microbiology and immunology. One of Dr. Wentz's main focus, as a scientist, has been his research in improving human health.
He broke new ground with his research in human cell culture technology and infectious disease diagnoses. In 1992, he founded Usana Health Sciences which manufactures the highest quality nutritional supplements. He has received several top recognition. Notable among them are his presidential appointment as advisor to the Small Business Administration. As well as, being a recipient of the Utah Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2003.
Continuing his journey, Dr. Myron Wentz established Sanoviv Medical Institute, a state-of-the-art medical facility. This medical institute was founded in 1997 with an approach to holistic healing including body, mind and spirit.
Dr. Wentz has a heart for children and has extensively supported the Children's Hunger Fund through his medical missionary efforts for which he was a recipient of the Children's Champion Award. In June 2007, Dr. Wentz received the Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Life Sciences.
A Man with Vision
Dr. Myron Wentz has a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology. He served as director of microbiology and immunology laboratories for three hospitals in the Peoria area, as well as infectious diseases specialist. Having gained a few years of clinical experience under his belt, he grabbed an opportunity to make further contributions in the field of medical science by developing much-needed tests for viral diseases.
In 1974, Dr. Wentz single handedly launched Gull Laboratories and by 1977 the FDA approved several of his viral diagnostic assays which were used by many hospitals and clinical laboratories. One of his major accomplishments at that time was the development of the first commercially available test for diagnosing infection with the Epstein-Barr virus.
In 1992, Dr. Wentz sold Gull Laboratories and founded USANA Health Sciences, a state-of-the-art manufacturer of vitamin and nutritional supplements.
Dr. Myron Wentz is deeply involved in charitable and humanitarian efforts founding the Wentz Medical Centre and Laboratory in Uganda and the Wentz Medical Centre in Cambodia to serve children orphaned by diseases such as malaria and HIV.
He travels world-wide as a medical missionary and was recognized for his commitment as a recipient of the Children's Champion Award by the Children's Hunger Fund.
Besides his dedication to health and disease, Dr. Wentz has a love for music and his generosity has made possible the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

Alleviating the suffering of children around the world
As mentioned earlier, Dr. Wentz through USANA Health Sciences has been a long-standing supporter of Children's Hunger Fund and its mission to serve children in need world-wide.
Basically, CHF works to provide food and much-needed aid to children who fall victim to hunger, malnutrition, poor medical care, abandonment or abuse. Forbes magazine credited CHF with a 100 percent efficiency rating for more than 99 percent of CHF revenue going directly to program serving children in need.
Dr. Wentz along with the combined support of Usana's dedicated family of associates has raised over $9 million in cash and vitamins towards helping improve the lives of children under the Children's Hunger Fund.
Besides the financial support he has provided to the CHF, Dr. Wentz funded a state-of-the-art medical center for the diagnosis and prevention of disease in Africa in 2005. This medical facility provides service to a community of 300,000 people, many of whom suffer from HIV/AIDS or have been orphaned by the disease.
The facility also provides educational training and diagnostic care for women and children, including testing for HIV, malaria and intestinal viruses.

- I just returned from a two week Rejuvenation program at Dr. Wentz's Sanoviv Medical Institute in Mexico. What an amazing, professional, caring, loving place. I arrived run down and stressed out. Detoxed and home, I can't say enough about what I experienced and saw at Sanoviv. Healing abounds there!

- I hadn't heard of him before although I had heard the name USANA. It's sad that it often takes tragedy to spur people on to do great things like he is doing. The world could use more people like him, and fewer of those who seek to destroy everything or who are just full of greed. Excellent job, blessed.
