The Church Must Change

The Web 2.0 Church!

Many Christians are experiencing discontent with the way things have been in the traditional church. General statistics show us that almost half of those who claim to be Christain no longer go to church.

The Internet is Changing! WEB 2.0

Are you ready to change?

I'm struck with the similarity of what's happening in today's Christian Church and what is going on in the internet with Web 2.0

Our changing world demands that the church must change with it. It's a great mistake to assume that our present church culture is more Biblical than some of the newer models. Churches should appeal to the many avenues of society.

Our mindsets need to not be stationary. The cloud is moving. Old paradigm churches have permitted spiritual and emotional abuse, victimization, and control. These issues must be seriously addressed.
Where free communication is not allowed, control usually results.

The relational aspects of Web 2.0 provide a model for churches to create powerful interaction between members. Improved communication can also be developed between congregants and church leaders.

Web 2.0 shows us the massive change into a people focued group where all can participate. We see the need for collective information - where the collective intelligence of the masses is harnessed (like Wikipedia). We see that an honor system of trust allows groups to add vital information and even at times correct themselves.

This group idea appeals to many who tire of the single monolithic approach of leadership. Proper leadership now moves more to teaching, guidance, and mentoring. There is great need for more mutual interaction. Consumer-friendly structure.

Church leadership authority is redefined as we move into new mindsets of what reaches people in this new day. We no longer just pontificate - we can blog (interact) together - contributing all of our ideas for greater application and understanding. Communication-oriented systems become part of where the church can go!

This shift is also called the 3rd Day Church! This 3rd Day speaks of resurrection - it shows us the reality of LIVING in a new platform. We're starting a new platfor on web2-0church.com

The Church government must change to accomadate this change. All of us must develop new mindsets. What an exciting day to be alive! In the midst of change!

Our ministry is here to help believers CHANGE - to mature until they are able to realize, enjoy, and activate the things that Jesus died to give.

Change is correct - God has called us out of Babylon. Who is Babylon? Your man-made Temples (Church). God is cleaning his temples, Who are the Temples (We are). He is looking for holy temples for his worship. His children worship in spirit in truth! Praise God, we can worship him everyday, not just on Sunday. Be the church everyday - at home, work etc. Let us stop talking and playing Church, but live and be the Church!

The need for change is seen in our numbers in Church on Sundays. Christians today are wanting something different than our traditional service and we all need that change of mindset. We need to go to church expecting to participate

I agree change in churches is needed. Your article addresses the newness to the social aspect of the new parts within the church. It is just that the elder fraction is missing the boat. Please look to this ongoing discussion on change in churches:

Pastor, you have said a mouthful. I got saved in a small Friday night home church in 1977. We each had a potluck dinner, sat in a circle, testified, sand, listending to the Word and prayed for each other. In that little church was body ministry, and the people were used by God in a marvelous manner. We say healings, deliverance, lame walking deaf hearing, great salvations! My God where is the Church?

The sad thing is so many folks think the limited Christianity most of us have known is the real thing. This is God's time for those who desire a deeper relationship with Him to be set free from limitations and tradition and move on into what He has planned from humankind from the beginning. A fresh hard look at Genesis 1 & 2 is in order.
