Sail-A-Bration for Dream's Call at Port Canaveral Nov 18
The Carnival Dream will call Port Canaveral its home, beginning on December 3. But, prior to that, the big ship will make a port call to our area on the 18th of November, and area residents will be turning out to celebrate the first apparence of what will soon thereafter become 'their' newest ship!The event, sponsored by the Port Canaveral Port Authority, is called Dream Sail-A-Bration, and here are the details:
EVENT: Dream Sail-A-Bration
DATE: November 18, 2009
TiME: 5:30 to 7:30 PM
PLACE: Park (free!) at Cruise Terminal 4 and follow the crowds from there
ADMISSION: None, but guests are requested to bring a non perishible food item to help feed the hungry.
DESCRIPTION: Come celebrate the very first sailing of the Carnnival Dream from the Port Canaveral Cruise Port, which is soon to become the Dream's home port. Wave to the crew and passengers as the big ship sails along our ship channel on her way out to sea. Enjoy a what the organizers are billing as a 'spectacular laser light show' and the on site broadcasting of a local Lite Rock radio station. Mementos will be available.
BONUS: You can register to win a free Carnival cruise for two in a penthouse suite!
So, bring your camera, and/or your binoculars, and be there on the 18th to get a good close up look at Port Canaveral's newest big cruise ship. And don't forget your donation for the food pantry - as well as a pen for filling out that free cruise entry form!

Carnival Dream for the first time in Venice Friday, September 25, 2009 Having joined last September 21 in Civitavecchia, the new Carnival Dream arrives for the first time in the port of Venice, a stage of the program's inaugural three cruises in the Mediterranean. The lagoon city port of call will be set in European programming in Naples, Messina, Livorno and the home port of Civitavecchia. After the three inaugural 12-night cruises in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic crossing of 16 nights Carnival Dream will take the old continent to the New York Bay. Follow the placement in Port Canaveral, home port of the first season in the tropics, with a schedule alternating between Eastern and Western Caribbean. The ship can accommodate 3646 passengers in 1823 cabins, 63% of which are external, and of these, 78% with private balconies
