2009 Motorola Droid Owners Confess!
19 Droid owners give the DROID a 9.2 out of 10 (see number 3 below)
Motorola Droid A855 Phone (Verizon Wireless)

The Motorola Droid for Verizon is out, and we talked to actual Droid phone owners to get the real lowdown instead of some company "Buy Me" recommendation. There have been rumors of low Motorola production numbers, incredible speed, fast browsing, bad keyboard, the Android 2.0 Operating system, etc. As with most new products, the supply is lower than demand, and that usually creates some excitement on its own, but we want to know the real deal about Motorola's "iPhone killer." We put all those rumors to rest here.
- UPDATE November 30, 2009 - < 96.01% of 904 Droid owners rated their 2009 Droid 4 or 5 starts out of a possible 5! See voting results at DroidForums.net here ... http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-polls/996-rate-motorola-droid-5.html >

We let owners vent and tell us what Droid phone features they do not like, and what could have been made better.
3 - Motorola Droid Review - Overall Score
We take Droid phone owner's input and average out a 1 - 10 score.
4 - Motorola Droid Review - Product Features
This is a plain list of features, such as Google Voice (exclusive to this phone), GPS, Droid Bump App, Google Maps, etc.
Just the facts, no company spin.
1 - Motorola Droid Review - THE GOOD
Owners are super stoked about some things

This Droid phone is unbelievable! From opening the box, to surfing, to the mack daddy battery life, to the loaded aps, I found zero flaws. Highly recommend. Too many positives to list.
score 10
- Rachel, New York
The screen is huge! Images very sharp and clear. The graphics and appearance in all aps is 100%.
score 9.2
- William "Z-man"
First phone with Google Maps Navigation. It is exclusive, so I thought I would not be happy, bugs and all, but it worked just like the demos. I was going to buy a GPS, but don't need to now.
score 10.0
- Reynaldo, Texas
The Internet Radio / FM Transmitter / Charger accessory rocks. I play all my MP3 collection through my car speakers, while charging my phone. I drive a lot, so this is definitely nice. Also access Rhapsody through this accessory. Love it.
score 9.0
- Cynthia James, Florida
My Droid phone shuts off the screen to save battery life when I put it to my ear when I make a call. Outstanding that they thought of even the little things.
score 9.0
- Luv2run
When you select an ap or touch screen icon it auto zooms to that form. Makes the multi touch quicker. Nice.
score 8.5
YouTube was pre-loaded, and loads crazy fast! Thank you Verizon 3-g.
score 9.5
- Ralph, Savannah, Ga
When you turn the phone on, "DROID" shows up across the screen, then a red eye appears like it is coming to life. A robot like voice says DROID and it boots up fast..
score 9.0

- Thomas J.
Facebook was already on it. I live on Facebook!!! Everything else runs smooth, great screen, best visuals I have ever had on a phone.
score 8.5
- SteveWOW796
D-pad (directional pad) is awesome, and well-placed. Runs games verrrry well.
score 8.3
- William
Uses Google voice. Sweet! Awesome all around.
score 10
- DLow
It flat out looks sick! Feels good, just seems to overall look and work totally sweet. I know I have only had it 1 day, but i am glad I did not change networks and get the i-phone.
score 8.7
- Mary
Battery life is huge with me. I am always forgetting to charge up, then go out on a call and get stuck. They say 6+ hours talk time, which is freaking amazing. You can run apps, wi-fi, and bluetooth and surf web and not worry about charge battery life. I love it. Get one!
score 9.5
- Alexa, Florida
Speakers and sound is top-notch. Amazon mp3 loaded in already. It jams and does not run battery down.
score 9.0
- Frank P.
Is better than my brother's iphone in every way AND has much bigger verizon network. Very happy. Awesome phone.
score 9.1

Lexerd
Motorola DROID TrueVue Crystal Clear Cell Phone Screen Protector

Lexerd's latest technology is 100% guaranteed to preserve true vivid screen colors, and we could notice no difference before and after installation.
Exclusive Lexerd tecnology conforms to your Droid, and protects your investment.
Protectors also cut down on glare, and proved perfect in our scratch tests.
A must-have in our estimation.

Motorola DROID Car Bean Bag Dash & Windshield Holder
Gomadic Brand

No-scratch No-skid design worked well in our tests.
Bean bag has special no-scratch no-slip cloth.
The windshield mount has a gooseneck that never fell out of place, and held the phone right where we positioned it.
We believe this to be the best car mount on the market, and recommend it above all others.

EBay Droid phone stuff
Selling like mad. If you have decided to buy I would do it now.
Fetching new data from eBay now... please stand by2 - Motorola Droid Review - THE BAD
owners had issues with some features and performance
* for sake of space, duplicate complaints are only listed once.- Zade Beckit, Ar
Auto-focus could be better on my Droid phone, but not too bad. 5 megapixels help it. Takes some getting used to. Only had it one day, maybe me.
score 8.5
- Josey, New York
The camera does not show the pic you just took. You have to touch a thumbnail to pull it up. Just seems like this is something that is on every phone or camera except this one. It is not necessarily bad, just different.
score 7.8
- Barbara Deckle, Georgia
I am used to the pinch-zoom move to zoom in on pictures on my school's i-phone they gave me. I guess I will have to get used to double tap instead.
score 8.4
- Ken R., Massachusetts
I love my wife's Blackberry Facebook ap because it gives alerts. No built-in alerts on Droid except email notification. I got some duplicate entries on Contacts list. I am sure this is a software deal, and they will send a fix.
score 7.8
- CherryBomz,
The pull out keyboard is kind of clunky. I just use the on-screen display keyboard instead.
score 7.6
- SteveWOW796 (From "THE GOOD" above)
Speakers and sound could be better when gaming.
score 8.3
Wicked Motorola Droid Apps
New Apps listed as they come out. Check back often. (In no particular order.)
The Droid "Bump" app for the iPhone, now available for the Android platform as well! Droid Bump app lets users share information between phones by physically "bumping" them together. With a "bump" you can exchange emails, phone numbers, address, or photos.

The Droid Bump ap is cross platform COMPATIBLE so bumping will work between Android phones and the iPhone. This app makes swapping information easy and almost effortless. Now available for the DROID!

2 - The Droid TwiDroid Pro app
Android88 November 15, 2009 at 1:16 pm
"The best app for me would be the Droid Twidroid Pro, I use this app at least 20 times a day."
The TwiDroid Pro can perform every possible Twitter function from the Android O.S. such as: Direct Messaging, @Reply to your friends, post your pics, Paste a URL and set your location with the new Geo feature pulling your location from the Droid GPS system. Also, you can Search Tweets and can set background notifications too!
The user interface is pretty slick. Every function is optimized for thumb/finger navigation except the Direct and @Replies on the main Tweet screen, rather tiny. (taken from AndroidTap.com review)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Google Voice: The Google Voice for Mobile app is free to install and use. You do need to have an existing Google Voice account, however, for it to work. Once installed, you can make outgoing calls from your Google Voice number with the touch of a button, right from your contacts list. You also gain easy access to voicemail and Google Voice-based SMS messaging.
Awesome Cell Phone Apps

- Screen protectors are a ripoff. It's a glass screen, people! Wipe it on your jeans and it's perfect again.

- Not all screens are created equal, and the screen protector can also cut down on glare from angular lighting. I prefer to protect any investment I make that is several hundred dollars. Since they are just a few bucks, I figure, why not?
