The Advantages of Buying and Selling Art on the Web
Are you looking for a way to get the word out about your artwork, or just looking to make some extra money? Are you looking to purchase artwork at a reasonable price? Learn a little bit about how I am using the web to further my art career and how you can too, artist or not.
I have been drawing since I was about eight years old and specialize in portraits and figures. It has been a little over a year since I started seriously promoting my art career, and I am REALLY enjoying it. I am a WORKING artist, the best kind of artist to be! Start-up costs are what prevented me from promotion in the past, but with the internet and some elbow grease, it costs nothing to promote and sell my artwork.
I have learned so much and met so many kind hearted people, it's been great. I enjoy promoting my work on the web because so many people can enjoy it and offer insights. There are some great sites that are terrific support networks for an aspiring artist. It took some time to get established, so give yourself a few months to year, depending on how many hours a day you can invest.
My full time career is Social Work. I love it, but it is tough stuff sometimes, and for some reason, many don't know or care a whole lot about Social Workers or the work they do to keep our society functioning.
Right now I have a few websites that display my original fine art and my artwork on different products like t-shirts, coffee mugs, stamps and the like.
I have lenses about artwork, pets, organic food, and hope to have a bunch more soon.

Zazzle Has Talent
To the right is a note card I designed for Zazzle, which is a site where artists like me put their work on products for all the world to see, and purchase. There are thousands of designers there who are extremely talented and very supportive of each other. Joining is free and the site is fairly simple to navigate.
This site is cool because you can create your own customized product at a reasonable price, and don't have to buy 200 of them for it to be customized! You can take your favorite picture and make it an ornament, a coffee mug, or you can ask one of the Zazzlers to make something special for you.

Sample of a Commissioned Portrait
This is a sample of a recently commissioned portait. I am able to make portraits from a picture sent to me by the client. It's a pretty simple way for the buyer to get a fine art piece for a fraction of the cost of a formal sitting. New Igo GREEN Tip of the Day
