We can't see, smell, or taste Venice from here. So, we look for her in books.

So, let's go to the kitchen and cook. You probably can guess that my favorite cuisine is Italian -- it varies so widely from North to South, there is always something new and exciting to try. I'd like to know your favorite cookbooks -- you may know one I don't! But here are some of my well-used old friends.
Before Lidia and Mario, there was Marcella and she has taught me a great deal. There are area specific books, and ingredient specific books, but these few are my mainstays.
