Etrade Bank Savings

You probably know that E-Trade is one of the Internet's premier online stock trading sites, but did you know that there's an Etrade Bank too? They offer checking, savings, retirement accounts, and other banking services. Etrade banking has the added benefit of letting you transfer money from your Etrade bank accounts to your Etrade account for market trading.

Looking at various savings account options, E-trade Savings accounts offer very competitive yields. Currently, they're producing an annual percentage yield (APY) of 1.95%. That's huge compared to most other banks.

The details and requirements.

Etrade Bank and their savings accounts require no fees, no minimums, and are FDIC insured. Quick Transfer from Etrade Bank to any other institution is easy Overall, you'll probably find that this is a strong competitor for your savings dollars.

If you trade through Etrade Financial or have an Etrade account, you will probably find that this is a convenient way to store your money between trades too. That percentage yield is very tempting.

Another thing Etrade Bank offers is retirement accounts in traditional IRA forms. Etrade Financial has traditional and Roth IRA offers through Etrade Bank.

Looking at Etrade Bank IRAs

Traditional and Roth IRA Accounts

Etrade Bank has some great options for those already trading with Etrade Financial. Your Etrade account IRA can be created from another account that is rolled over or started from scratch. Traditional IRAs have no income limits, no annual fees or minimums (with electronic statements/confirms) and more. This Etrade account IRA is great for those looking for long term retirement investing without income limit hassles.

For those Etrade banking customers who prefer a Roth IRA, there's a good one there to consider too. This one has all the benefits a Roth offers and, through Etrade Bank, there are no annual fees, no penalties for withdrawing contributions, and more.

There are certainly good options for both Etrade Savings accounts and for Etrade Financial retirement IRAs, so it's definitely worth the time to go look at what they offer.

I have an E-Trade account, and I do find their interest rates are better than the average bank. All I need though is money to put away to save, I wish I did... Thanks for the information.

Good Len, but I think it is a little risky for newbies who just started out.

woah! So many online savings nowadays! That is why the rate are still so high and are actually beating some CD's!
Etrade is great, I have a checking acct and CD. Fast opening!

Too bad I have 2 other online savings or I would sign up.

I am just scared they are going to raise the 5000+ to a better APY over time.

By the way, what is the difference btw MMA and Saving?
