FIFA 08 -EA Games - The best FIFA game yet!

With the release of FIFA 08 in the United Kingdom Electronics Arts better known as EA sports has opened a challenge to Pro Evolution Football 08.

The anticipation around the release of this game was huge. Recently it was overshadowed by the release of GTA but I wouldn't miss it for that!

Does FIFA 08 deliver

So does it deliver? Well do you like football, do you like FIFA, do you like games? Then you will love this! There are a number of game play options present on FIFA 2008, including a season long campaign or a number of tournaments, mostly regional cup games, or the International Cup. These judiciously avoid making use of trade mark games like the FA cup or World Cup which would have presented FIFA 08, EA games and ultimately you the customer with licensing charges.

FIFA 08 vs Pro Evolution Soccer 08

FIFA 08 really pushes the boundaries giving Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer a good run for it's money. With it's new game engine FIFA 08 pushes the mark on graphics and animation but FIFA 08 also scores with it's new AI innovation - this means that your players are tuned into what is happening around them and are able to make decisions regarding positioning and tactics even when they are not selected by you. Be aware though this applies to your opponents too.

Game play in FIFA 08

FIFA 08 allows you to pick many of your favourite teams and with a huge selection of national leagues and players FIFA 08 really does have something for everyone. You also can change team formation although this was an expected. There is some difference to what and who is available for different formats of the game so check that you really will get what you are looking for.

Game choice means that you can chose the quick game or the longer tournament mode. EA games has added a nice touch to FIFA 08 with it's challenges section, these are scenario based games where you will be asked to perform a selected task. Pro mode allows you to play as one player and build his reputation.

FIFA 08 Graphics and Animation

The graphics and animation are well done with the usual replay of some spectacular event. Players look crisp and colours are bright and visually there is very little to complain about.This may be my imagination but I think that EA games has included in the artificial intelligence a means of getting players to react to weather conditions.

Complaints about FIFA 08

Most complaints hinge around the fact that different consoles are limited in what is available to them on FIFA 08. For instance Wii gamers may find that themselves wishing that they had a manager mode however there are many compensations in actual game play so they shouldn't miss too much.
