Set your home up as a haven.
Open the door . . .
Aroma of your home is an impression much more enduring than fixtures. Takes a
heap of living to make a house a home. Not masking aroma, but killing bad aromas!
Diffuser with lemon oil = Clean and well kept, add Lavender to the lemon = relaxing
this is where I want to be.
Natural way to provide delightful aromas and infinite possibilities.
Essential oils set the aroma style for your house.
Far more than just fragrances, (or toxic aerosol sprays) they're Anti-bacterial, antiviral,
anti-depressant, creates a vital barrier to toxins and 'bugs', tailor made for
whatever you want
Freshen up house
Plant spray: 10 drops EO Lavender or Lemon or Orange or Rosemary or Tea Tree + 2 ½
cups H2O. Choose any one of the oils to add to the water. Spray/mist plants. Be careful
of plants on wood.
Freshen carpet: Non-scented talc or baking soda + 5 drops any oil Sprinkle on carpet &
vacuum up! Lemongrass = mold, bacteria out of carpet.
Cold air diffuser: 1 diffuser per 1000 sq. ft room - or, several drops of favorite oil in bowl
of H2O, bring to boil; Diffuse fragrance.
Filters of heating system: Spice of Life drops on them to avoid 'sick building. If you're
using wood stove, pull out humidifier add drops of EO to it.
Hall or area where air is stagnant: shot glasses in plants with drop or two of oil.
Mist air during cold/flu season: Lemon, or orange, or Lemon grass, equal parts of each,
(or mix 2-3 drops Rosemary / Lemon), add to 2 ½ cups H2O, then mist the plants for flu
and cold.
Seasonal Aromas:
Spring/Summer - use light oils - Lemon, Geranium, Peppermint, Lavender
Autumn/Winter - use warm oils - Orange, Frankincense, Cypress, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus
Create a Blend for Spring /Summer = 10 Lemon + 4 Geranium + 3 Peppermint
Create a Blend for Autumn/Win = 8 Orange + 3 Frankincense + 4 Geranium
Bacteria Busters:
Lots of bacteria are harboring on counters, in sponges, all around the house.
Most oils are antiseptic and inhibit the growth of bacteria - LEMON oil in particular,
and no risks
1 gal PineSol enough phenol to kill an adult 3 x's, phenol is oily, easily absorbed thru
feet after mopping, etc
Bacteria Buster Recipe:
Spice of Life used alone OR make your own
10 drops Lemon, 8 drops Eucalyptus, 5 drops Rosemary, 3 drops Lemongrass,
added to water, shake and spray.
o Use to wipe down cabinets, sinks, tubs, toilets, doorknobs, fixtures to protect
from bacteria
Therapeutic property of oils last generally for 5 years, but if kept in good conditions they
last 2000 years.
If you have perfume grade oils, use for cleaning - Eucalyptus, pour down the drain.
Kitchen:
Essential oils are about cleansing the air NOT masking bad smells
EO's when used correctly are absolutely harmless
Try not to spray directly on food - affects flavors of food.
High chair - 8 drops Tea Tree in 2 ½ cups H2O - spray and wipe down, good
disinfectant,
10 drops Tea Tree in 2 ½ cups water, spray, will prevent fungus and mold
8-10 drops Tea Tree, 5 Rosemary, 4 Lemongrass in H2O, sprayed on black mold =
mold GONE!
Kitchen Air Spray: any of the singles, Rosemary / Lemon / Eucalyptus / Lavender /
Lemongrass /Geranium- 1 drop on cloth or 7 drops in H2O
Cleaning your fridge: add lemon to cloth, when rinsing, add orange oil
Surfaces washed and cleaned - any single of these oil, or combination of them
added to 2 ½ cups water - Eucalyptus / Lavender/ Lemon / Orange / Cypress /
Lemongrass / Rosemary
Synergy to clean, disinfect, uplift - Spice of Life or 8 drops Lavender, 10 drops
Lemon, 5 drops Eucalyptus, 8 drops Orange, 3 drops Rosemary.
Sugar ants - Peppermint , straight on surfaces
Repel rats - Lemongrass on baseboards
Disinfect dishtowels: Soak dishtowels in Lemon/Orange or Tea Tree/Eucalyptus
solution, then wash in washing machine
Dishes/Dishwasher: 5 Lemon / 2 Lavender / 1 Orange - add to 3 oz. bottle of
automatic dishwasher liquid, add to dishwasher
Utility room / Wash room:
Rosemary / Lavender - 3-5 drops in H2O softener compartment (in washing
machine) with warm H2O
Tumble dry cycle, 2 drops on 4x4 piece of cloth:
o Fresh - Lavender / Rosemary
o Floral - Geranium
o Romantic - Mood Magic 4 Men/Women
o Energy - Peppermint
o Disinfect - Eucalyptus / Rosemary
Bedroom
o Essential Oils on cotton balls in drawer - 2 Geranium + 3 Lemon
o Moth repellant = 4 Lavender + 3 Lemongrass + 3 Rosemary + 2 Peppermint on
cotton ball in closet
o Sneaker Tamer %u263A
o 1 Cup Baking Soda + 2 drops Peppermint + 5 drops Rosemary + 3 Lavender , put in
shoes at night (1 tablespoon), shake around, leave overnight
o Can also be used in place of Comet cleanser!
Living room:
o Furniture polish - 8 oz Beeswax + 2 ½ c. Turpentine + 2 ½ c. H2O + 1 or 2 oz pure
soap flakes + 10 drops your favorite oil. Mix. Polish.
o Diffuse to relax - 8 Geranium + 5 Lemon + 3 Orange
o Diffuse to stimulate, wake up - 8 Peppermint + 4 Lavender + 4 Lemon + 2 Basil
Bedroom:
Mind, Body, Spirit - Mood Magic for Men or Women
Calm & gentle feelings, create romantic synergy - 8 Lavender, 4 Geranium, 2 Basil, 3
Frankincense
Bathroom:
Use bacteria busters:
o Spice of Life Blend - 10 drops + 2 ½ c H2O + Clean and disinfect, mop floors, etc.
10 drops Lemon, 8 drops Eucalyptus, 5 drops Rosemary, 3 drops Lemongrass,
added to water, shake and spray.
o Use to wipe down cabinets, sinks, tubs, toilets, doorknobs, fixtures to protect
from bacteria
Diffuser to keep air clean and disinfected
Use in place of Comet cleanser - 1 Cup Baking Soda + 2 drops Peppermint + 5
drops Rosemary + 3 Lavender. This is the same recipe as 'Sneaker Buster'
