THE STEP MOTHER ARRIVES
The step mother arrives(Anjelica Huston) to meet and greet, then soon after the childs father dies. He falls off his horse onto the road. They all run out to see whats the matter.Little does the girl(Drew Berrymore) know that it was the last time she was ever going to be treated as a child should be.
THROUGH OUT THE MOVIE
Through out the movie,Danielle(Drew Berrymore)cooked cleaned, and tended to the step-mother and her step-sisters as if she was a slave. She was treated just as that. They were mean to her and very bossy. Had no concerns for anyone but theselves. The stepmother and the sisters were lazy, and because of that they have litte to live off of. They spent money as if it were water.
During this time, the step mother sold a slave that had been apart of Danielles life since she was a child to pay for her debts. Not only did this man havea wife, but was very close to her.
Danielle was very upset about this and dressed as a noble to free this man. Little did she know that it was going to be the first day of the rest of her life.
She met the prince while arguing with a guard. And since that day she would see him through the nights and days when she was finished with her chores disguised as noble. It wasnt until the end during an engament party that it was all brought about who she really was. He rejected her, but his love for her overcome the humility of a commoner. In the end the girl got the crown, the man and the step mother and the evil sister got what they deserved.
a fairly tale told in a perfect romance story
I WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER. I STILL DAY DREAM ABOUT BEING A PRINCESS. ITS A GREAT MOVIE FOR WHEN YOUR WORKING IN THE KITCHEN. HISTORY OF THE CINDERELLA FAIRYTALE
The earliest recorded version of the tale comes from China. It was written down by Tuan Ch'eng-shih in the middle of the ninth century A.D. (850-60 Common Era). The tone of the story implies that its readers and listeners were already well-acquainted with the story by the time it was written down. The heroine of the Chinese tale is Yeh-shen. There is no fairy godmother in this earliest known version. A magical fish is Yeh-shen's helper instead. However, a golden shoe is used to identify Yeh-shen to the prince who wants to marry her.
Although a reference to the story exists in 16th century German literature, the next written version of the story comes from Charles Perrault in his Contes de ma Mere L'Oye in 1697. From this version, we received the fairy godmother, the pumpkin carriage, the animal servants, and the glass slippers.
The Grimm Brothers' German version, known as Aschenputtel, or Ash Girl, does not have a fairy godmother. The heroine plants a tree on her mother's grave from which all of the magical help appears in the form of a white dove and gifts. At the end, the stepsisters' eyes are pecked by birds from the tree to punish them for their cruelty. Perrault's version is considerably more forgiving than this version.
In modern times, the tale of Cinderella has inspired countless picture books, musicals, novels, and dreams of little girls.

- CINDERELLA STORY LESSON PLANS AND TEACHING IDEAS
- In this unit plan students compare the classic tale with a version set in the pre-Civil War South, Moss Gown by William Hooks, noting the architecture, weather, time period, and culture as depicted in the text and illustrations. Internet research projects and Story Map graphic organizers then provide background for a discussion of how the setting of a story affects the characters and plot. Students read one or more other versions of the Cinderella story and compare them using a Venn diagram. During the final two sessions, students plan, write, and peer edit their own Cinderella stories.
