Progecting pictures onto walls

Easy for everyone, But patience helps too :-)

Ok If you click on the picture above that interests you most, You will get a little description of what I did. However I would like to share with you just how easy it was for me to involve my family in painting the playroom wall!

1)First I asked my son what cartoon figures he liked. He said Sonic and Fred Flintstone.

2)I looked up the charachters on the internet via google. My son was at my side.

3) I downloaded the pictures and copied them onto a clear projector sheet which can be obtained from any stationary store.

4) I borrowed an old overhead projector from the school and projected the images on the wall.

5) I and my wife used a pencil to draw round the charachters.

6) My son helped my wife to paint Fred and Dasterdly. Paint is water based and was bought at a local toy store.

7) I painted the sonic blade. The magnetic paint came from a paint store and the blue paint from the toy store. The magnetic paint needs to be sanded down and painted again in order for it to work more afectively.

If you look closely at the sonic picture you will not see tacks or pins or selotape on the wall! Just magnets :-)

If you click on the other pictures you wil also get a clearer description, Otherwize just ask if you need to know more or if you have some idea,s to share yourself? I am always interested in new and fun idea,s :-)

Save money by obtaining your tools by less expensive methods

Below I have a list of items you can buy on Amazon. For convienience and time this is a good way to shop. However you might save some money by borrowing an overhead projector from a school or buying an old one from them. If its just for your own home, then maybe renting one is possible? When you think of paint and brushes. Buy the best as buying cheap is just a waste of time and can often result in a job not well done! Have fun :-)

Buy Your Magnetic Paint here:

You might be able to buy your paint localy or by searching via google, But if its too much hassle then here are some products you can buy here:

Overhead Projectors for sale:

If you think you cannot project onto walls and you never try it, Then your probably right. But if you try it anyway, Then you might just surprize yourself! Its so easy that my kids can do it!

More projectors & Transparancy paper

You also need transparancy paper. But it is possible to buy pens that wash off, So you can re use them over and over again!

Fun painting

Books on fun painting for kids. Nothing paints a better picture than that of your own kids. My five year old painted a masterpiece using 4 colours and a fork. Here is some more fun stuff

Wonderful suggestions, I'll especially remember the magnetic paint (is it available in the US?) and the overhead idea.

Very well done lens. I am not a painter but I do enjoy color. I am one of those people that thrive on sunshine. Since painting my home in various golden tones it has improved my mood. I love all the special paint techniques such as venitian plaster.
