I rescue fresh food thrown out by stores and donate it to homeless shelters. Most stores throw out $800 worth of that day's bakery, deli, and produce items every day. I've donated over $40,000 in 10 months, and am in better physical shape than ever from all the lifting. Saves a lot of stuff from unnecessarily filling the landfills. It is legal to rescue abandoned goods in my area.
