Eddie Murray: Hall of Fame Firstbaseman for the Baltimore Orioles
Growing up a Baltimore Orioles fan in the 1980's, Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken, Jr. were my 2 favorite baseball players. While Eddie Murray was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the late 1980's, I still rooted for him and always considered him a Baltimore Oriole at heart.
Luckily, Eddie Murray was able to return to the Baltimore Orioles to cap off his Hall of Fame career in style. He belted his 500th career home run during his second stint with the Baltimore Orioles on September 6, 1996, exactly one year to the day after Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive game streak of 2130.
In 2003, Eddie Murray was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame.
Below, I have highlighted some merchandise and auctions dedicated to Eddie Murray.
