Edwin Warner Park - Nature's Beauty in Nashville, Tennessee

Ranked #7,528 in Travel & Places, #202,323 overall

Edwin Warner Park, Nashville, TN

Edwin Warner Park, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is part of the Warner Parks system: Edwin Warner Park and Percy Warner Park, which are adjacent to each other on either side of Old Hickory Boulevard.

Although the following Wikipedia article indicates the two park were opened in 1927, I believe the main entrance to Edwin Warner Park was not built until 1933 (see picture below of date stone).

I have lived near these two beautiful parks most of my life, and have been walking there regularly for the past 20 years. I plan to eventually do a lens on Percy Warner, but since I have spent so much time in Edwin Warner Park the past two years, I have more photos from that park, which is truly a beautiful, restful place to visit. This poster is an interesting view of the main entrance to Percy Warner State Park. It looks like it might have been made from an old postcard. This poster comes in 23 x 14 and 12 x 8.

Edwin Warner Park Regulations

I am posting this sign which is posted at the Edwin Warner Park entrance, because I see so many people who do NOT leash their dogs. It's both a city law and a park regulation to keep your dogs on a leash at all times, yet I see dogs running free all the time, chasing deer and squirrels, and running up to sniff or growl at other dogs which are on leashes. Please obey the leash law and the other park rules and regulations.

I need to learn the names of some of these local Tennessee flowers, like this lovely little white flower.

I found these delicate yellow flowers only in one small patch in Edwin Warner State Park.

Flowering Trees in Edwin Warner Park

In Spring, many trees burst into bloom in the ark: Bradford pear trees, redbud, dogwood trees, locust trees and more lend fresh color to the woods and walking trails throughout scenic Edwin Warner Park.

Summer at Edwin Warner Park

Summer is beautiful, verdant green at Edwin Warner Park. Since the trails and drives go up into the hills, there are beautiful views everywhere. You will spot several photos from my favorite overlook in this lens.

Halloween in the Woods
Many state parks have shelters where you can have picnics, and some of those have fire places. Last year I reserved a shelter at Edwin Warner State Park with two picnic tables and a fireplace for a Halloween party for a reading group. We met at 6:00 PM right as darkness fell. Our shelter was a little remote, in a small meadow surrounded by woods, so it was picturesque by day but quite spooky at night, and dark, very dark!
