Eerie, Indiana

Ranked #26,080 in Entertainment, #319,872 overall | Donates to A Day of Hope

American TV Show: 1991-92 on NBC, 1997-98 on Fox

Maybe you moved as a kid, I know I did- many times. One of the first things a kid does in a new town is take in the landscape and culture, however small, or weird, the town may be.

Enter Marshall Teller, the new kid in town, who is discovering that there's a lot more to his new place of residence than a strange name. Along with his pal Simon Holmes, a lonely kid with a bad home life, he explores the secret reaches and dark corners of Eerie, Indiana.

This is a great show, because it sees and tells the stories' from Marshall and Simon's view point, and asks all those nagging questions we all had when we were growing up:

Where does all the lost stuff go?

Is Elvis really dead?

Is Bigfoot real?

The show pushes the boundaries of suspense without really being scary. It plays off as more fun and spoofy, just like the shows I remember growing up. It also has some tender moments, like Marshall's first kiss, and Simon's longing for a loving father figure, that temper some of the silliness. There were also some great TV stars of the 1960's- 70's, like John Astin (The Addams Family), Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian), and Henry Gibson (Laugh-In). They added a special sparkle to the show which couldn't be matched.

So take a look around Eerie...if you dare!
