Elaine Corvidae is an up-and-coming writer of "Fantasy with Attitude", beginning with her 1996 novel, Wolfkin.
Her recent Dragon's Son was awarded the 2006 Eppie Award for fantasy.
"Corvidae" is probably a pseudonym, being the species name of the crow (Corvus corvidae), which features prominently in Elaine's novel The Crow Queen and her "main" blog www.onecrow.net. On the other hand, the crow references could be a little genealogical word play.
Either way, fans of the fantasy genre give her works high marks, and you can easily view a few excerpts online before checking out one of her novels.
