Electrical Conduit - Basic, Fitting and Installation

What is electrical conduit?

Electrical Conduit is a tube that carries electrical wire for power or communications. It is a metal or plastic pipe through which electrical wires pass. This conduit offers protection to the wires. It is often used in exposed locations just like the external surface of a wall.

Main Type of Conduits: Flexible, Rigid, Plastic and Metal

Flexible conduit is available in 1/2" to 3/4" sizes. It is used in spaces where rigid conduit fails to install. It is easier to work with as well.

Rigid kind of metal or plastic conduit offers a higher degree of protection for the electrical wires compared to the flexible conduit.

Metal conduit is used only with metal boxes whereas plastic boxes aren't.

This information was useful even though I think that I will still call out the electrician when dealing with things of this nature. I'm not sure if I trust what I can't see. The video was very informative.
