This is really something that you can make at home with a square sheet cake and an easy Elmo cake stencil or topper to go on top!

How Do You Make It?

Use this Wilton tip 233 to make Elmo's fur with red frosting.

For the whites of his eyes you can use a larger tip like #12. For the nose use a very big marshmallow and then coat it with orange frosting and shape it as desired by adding more frosting to make the long shape. You may need to stick it in the fridge to make it firm.

Use to garnish the sides or corners of the cake!

One thing you can also use, are some little, Elmo cupcake rings like these. If you're making a sheet cake you can use the rings and embed them into the sides of the cake.

Not only will this make the cake stand out more, the rings will be cute prizes for the kids. It beats having to make fancy designs into the cake! Perfect if you're not exactly a pro and super easy to work into the cake.

Make a round cake with frosting color of your choice and then buy a small Elmo toy (figurine size) to sit on top of your cake! There, you have an easy cake topper!

All you need to do is make a little platform to protect the Elmo toy from getting dirty and then sit it on top of the cake.

After cake time is over, you can give the little Elmo doll to your tot! Or, you can use fondant like in the picture above.

It may take a little while, but it could prove to be quite fun!

Fondant is a sugar dough used to make flowers, smooth designs and cute figurines for cakes. The cake above is also covered in fondant. It gives a very smooth, sleek finish (a lot like what you see in wedding cakes!)

Get a Cheap Elmo Cake Decoration Frosting Tip!

All you really need is the frosting!

Instead of buying the fancy frosting bags you can also just use a plain, large zip lock bag. Cut the bag at one corner so you can fit your tip through it (be sure not to cut the hole too big or your tip will fall through!).

This way you can have different bags with different colors to make even more designs or experiment with other cake decorating tips.
