Emilio Pucci - Shoes, Handbags and More
Emilio Pucci, Marchese di Barsento (Nov. 20, 1914 - Nov. 29, 1992 was an Italian fashion designer and politician. He and his eponymous company are known for its geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colours. Emilio Pucci has some of the nicest designer fashion and designer shoes. After Emilio's death in 1992 his daughter, Laudomia Pucci, continued to design under the Pucci name. Emilio Pucci clothes and accessories are sold worldwide, mostly featuring the designer's original brightly coloured, often swirly, prints or new designs in his original distinct style. The Emilio Pucci fashion house produces ready-to-wear clothes and accessories for women, in addition to a small range of men's accessories.

Emilio Pucci Lived an Interesting Life
A scholar and an athlete, he was a member of the Italian ski team in 1934. He studied at the University of Milan and finished his masteral degree from the University of Portland (OR). He went back to Florence for his PhD in 1941, right after which Europe became a battlefield for World War II. Emilio Pucci received a commission of fighter pilot in the Italian Air Force where he received several decorations as war hero. After the war, the young Marchese went back to the life of an aristocrat and took up skiing once again.Wikipedia

The first clothes designed by Pucci were for the Reed College skiing team. But his designs came to wider attention in 1947, when he was on leave in Zermatt, Switzerland and ski-wear that he had designed for a female friend was photographed by Tony Frissell, a photographer working for Harpers, Bizaar. Initially he used his knowledge of stretch fabrics to produce a swimwear line in 1949, but soon moved onto other items such as brightly-coloured, boldly-patterned silk scarves.Wikipedia

In 1950 he opened his own couture house in Florence, increasingly gaining attention for colourful casual clothing. His clothes became highly fashionable on both sides of the Atlantic from the mid-1950s, with the establishment of a shop on Fifth Avenue, New York, and featured in Vogue. Emilio Pucci Accomplished A Lot In During His Career
From 1954 to 1968 he designed stewardess uniforms for Braniff Airlines. These avant-garde creations were designed as individual components to be added or removed as weather dictated. The uniforms included turtlenecks, t-shirts, crop jackets and culottes. Among the more unusual innovations was a "bubble helmet" - a clear plastic hood worn by flight attendants between terminal building and aircraft to protect their hairdos from rain and the blast of jet engines.Wikipedia

Emilio Pucci Still Lives On
After his death in 1992 his daughter, Laudomia Pucci, continued to design under the Pucci name.The Emilio Pucci brand was revived by the French firm Louis Vuitton-Moet-Hennessy Group, who acquired the rights in 2000. Designers who have worked under the Pucci brand include Stephan Janson, Julio Espada and Christian Lacroix. In 2006, British designer, Matthew Williamson replaced Lacroix as creative director. Laudomia Pucci continues to serve as the Image Director.

- I am more than a little DELIGHTED to see another lensmaster who obviously has great taste in shoes! I've been an Emilio Pucci fan for years and love the bold, vivid abstract patterns in shoes, handbags and scarves. This is one hot, artistic brand! Great lens.
