PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF UNDERSTANDING EQ!

Having introduced you to the concept of EQ SQ IQ WQ here is a book that might be useful for business owners!

Want to find the right person for the Job?

Check the EQ not CV!

I was on my way back from Melbourne after a weekend learning more about internet marketing and decided I would just read the in-flight magazine.
I spotted this page that reviewed the book "EQ Interview: Finding Employees with High Emotional Intelligence ".

The writer notes that the EQ is "not to be confused with social skills it is more about the person's internal world's, their intentions and motivation."

There are plenty of tests around that can be used to assess this aspect and a simple google search will sort that for you.

"A person with a high EQ understands how his or her behaviour affects that of other people and they are able to manage themselves when emotions are present." Says Adele B Lyn the author.

The book lists 250 behaviour based questions. The key is not to judge on one or two comments alone but to look for patterns in their answers. "Signs to pay attention to include a person frequently putting the blame on others or displaying poor coping skills."
