More Than Qualifications

We can't get through this life without a little (sometimes a lot of) work. Work is an activity that joins us all and it makes for good writing fodder. It's important to take a step back when writing about your job to make sure what you blog about doesn't come back to bite you in the ass.

This meme could be a short answer or elaborates upon depending on your mood and verbosity. (No blog? Feel free to use the comment / guestbook section below.)

This lens is part of a project I started on Blogging Memes. It is one of fifty. Want more blogging memes? Then visit the Fifty Memes lens. You'll also find more on intros, tagging and great blogging books.

But first you have some questions to answer!

How many jobs have you had?
Ten. My husband likens me to a butterfly.

Five Jobs I've Had

1. A cashier in a corner store called the Cow Palace.

2. A house cleaning assistant for a private business. She fired me because I wouldn't let her sit on her ass while I worked.

3. A nurse in a northern hospital.

4. A lottery clerk in a department store.

4. An assistant manager/manager for a plus size clothing store.

How many times have you been fired?
Twice. Both unjust and selfish reasons.

How many times have you quit?
Eight. Either for better employment or moving.

Did you go to school for any of the jobs you worked?
I went to college to become a registered nurse. I graduated and worked in that profession for a few years. I graduated at a time when there were few job options other than going south.

Worst job you ever had?
House Cleaning Assistant. She was lazy and when I called her on it she fired me.

Best job you ever had?
Personal aid to a mom with a newborn with birth defects.

Dream job?
Working for myself.

What are you doing now?
Working for myself.
