Handmade Envelope Template

This is my template for making envelopes. I only have one size here. It's easily resized with any photo editing software you have. I use Printmaster by Broderbund. It has tons of graphics you can add plus you can upload your own with the import option and customize your envelope. Most importantly it has a ruler across the top and down the side of the editing area so you can see how big your actually making it. But please use whatever you're comfortable with.

This template should measure 10 inches tall by 8 inches wide before resizing. Once its all folded up your envelope will be about 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches.
Keep in mind that each time you trace around a template you're making it a tiny bit bigger. If you cut out a template then trace it to make a new one, the newest one will be a tiny bit larger, so try to cut just inside your lines, or print out a new one.
Fold the sides in first, then the bottom and finally the top. Don't make sharp creases for your folds until you are sure they're straight. Once you're happy with it crease the folds with anything smooth, I use the side of my gluestick with the lid on tightly. Then unfold the bottom and put a line of gluestick on each side, fold back up and press. Use gluestick or stickers to close. Use plain address labels to address or write on heavily printed papers.
