EnviroCorps, Parks, Road Litter and You

EnviroCorps is a nonprofit organization that provides you with self-directed volunteer opportunities to serve your community close to your home. Volunteering with EnviroCorps enables you to get some exercise, enhance parks and other natural areas accessible to the public, meet others who share your interests, enjoy the outdoors, and spend valuable time with your children or grandchildren. With EnviroCorps you can volunteer near your home any time you would like. No need to wait for a work party at a set time or location. Some of our volunteers take advantage of this to get their daily exercise, help control their weight and provide a community service at the same time.

See Newsletter here.

Everyone's help is needed to reduce road litter. Parks need your help also.

If you live on the Gig Harbor or Key Peninsula in Washington State you can participate in our Litter Free Roads program.

We would love to hear from you.

How EnviroCorps works

You can search for a volunteer opportunity in any US zip code area. If there is no volunteer opportunity in your area it means no one in that zip code has registered with EnviroCorps. To register with EnviroCorps go to www.envirocorps.org/ecorps/createAccount.aspx

No matter where you live there is one volunteer opportunity that everyone can help on and that is patrolling for litter along park trails and public roads.

To see what one zip code leader is doing go to this web page.

Help promote your park like this EnviroCorps Volunteer is doing on this lens.

LITTER FREE PUBLIC ROADS AND PARKS -- You can help keep America's public roads and parks free of litter by contributing time, money or both. To volunteer with EnviroCorps please register on our web site. If you are not able to volunteer time but would like to contribute money, you will provide a needed job AND clean up litter. Two good deeds in one! Reoccurring donations are especially helpful. You are making a difference. Thank you for helping.

You have heard the saying, "it is more blessed to give than to receive".

Savor the sweet taste of giving
Share your encounters with the pleasures of empowering others.
Fund raising, volunteering, and donating - all of them ignite joys to be found in doing good works. All are multiplied by relationships within your cause.

You only lose energy when life becomes dull in your mind.
Your mind gets bored and therefore tired of doing nothing.
Get interested in something!
Get absolutely enthralled in something!
Get out of yourself!
Be somebody!
Do something.
The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself,
the more energy you will have.

Validate and be validated

All volunteers appreciate being thanked for what they do. At EnviroCorps we thank all our volunteers whenever they volunteer. Do you know someone that needs a thank you? It would put a smile on their face if you thank them.

You can do that by sending them a card.

It will validate their efforts.

As my father would say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. We all need to work at solving our waste problems and this is one small way.
