Reason Why You Come To South Florida To Fish

Beautiful View Of The Day Ahead

Can you possibly ask for better conditions? If I could I would love to wake up every morning to a view like this. The water was so calm but can you believe that I have been out on the water when it was even more beautiful than this? The only thing that could make this picture any better is if we had a couple of nice bikini models on the front. I Love South Florida Fishing.

South Florida Fishing Pics

A Nice Variety Of South Florida Fishing

Image of a 22 pound dolphin caught off of North Miami. 20 miles offshore 800 feet. Aboard the hook and ladder.

Nice South Florida Wahoo

Dave Struggling with the Wahoo

This is the 35 pound wahoo caught aboard the Lucky Larry out Of Port St. Lucie Florida. Caught her in 550 feet of water about 15-20 miles offshore. We trolled deep with a wire line and she picked up on a lure that had the colors of a baby dolphin. Once we came up on a nice weed line she hit. Big D. Reeled her in. Took Big D. About 45 mins. Darn thing turned the boat around as he was reeling it in.

South Florida Bull Dolphin

Not the Raging bull we want, but not complaining

This 12 pound bull dolphin was caught off of Key Largo about 10 miles out in 350 feet of water. Trolling a rigged ballyhoo with a blue and white skirt. Capt Ron caught this fish. Was Capt. Rons first bull dolphin of the summer.

Nice South Florida Dorado

Very Nice Dorado

Caught this beauty off of South Miami. We were about 23 miles out on a sweet weed line. We were trolling a yellow yazuri lure when she picked up on it. Mike T. Was the lucky one to get to reel this beauty in.

South Florida Barracuda

Small Cuda

Capt. Ron and his baby Barracuda. Capt. Ron Was reeling in his line to check it as this little guy nailed it. We let him go after this picture was taken. By the way I think Capt Ron needs some new fishing t-shirts because that one seems to be getting a little old.

Another nice Dolphin

Marks Big South Florida Dolphin

Mark caught this fish off of Miami. 450 Feet of water free lining a pilchard. Was a nice fight. Great job Mark.

Nice School of Dolphin

Caught about 33

We caught these out of Hollywood Florida. 300 Feet of water. We were trolling and nothing was hitting. We trolled passed a weedline that had 2 boats on it. They were not catching anything. Mike T. brought out the zabiki and caught some bait fish off the weed line and out of no where these guys showed up. WE hooked up as soon as the bait hit the water!!

Mike T. And His Nice Dolphin

Nice Dorado Courtesy of Mike T.

Nice Job Mike. He Caught this one out of Jupitor Inlet in 400 feet of water. Kite fishing a pilchard. Funny thing is he was actually going for sailfish and had to settle with this awesome fish.

Beautiful South Florida Parrot Fish

Beauty Blue Parrot

I caught this one in 30 feet of water off of Pacific Reef in South Miami. We were anchored and just trying to catch some yellow tail and could not believe the fight this guy put up. I thought he was a nice grouper but oh well. :) We did let this beauty go to live another day. From what I hear these are terrible to eat anyways.

An Awesome Day On The Water With A Fish On

Fish On!!

Nothing beats a South Florida day on the water. Accept having a fish on. Look at these awesome conditions. Why do these weekends go by so fast. You just can't beat sitting in the sun with your fishing pole in your hands reeling in a big fish while your fishing hats protect you from getting too burned.

Nice Barracuda. Look At The Teeth On This Guy!

18 Pound Barracuda

This is a mean looking fish huh? We caught this about 15 miles out of South Miami/Black Point Marina about the Soul Mate II. Capt. Ron was working the camera while Ricardo was keeping the vessel on the current heading EAST. We were trolling in about 650 feet of water. He picked up on a rigged ballyhoo with a new skirt I just bought. This skirt was called Mexican flag colors. The skirt had a metal head that acts as a weight and also has a spinning device to make vibration in the water. This skirt was the only bait that was getting hits today. And if you are wondering, this fish was released to fight another day.

Another NIce Bull Dolphin

What a great fight !

This Bull was caught off of Black Point Marina in South Miami. He picked up on a rigged ballyhoo with a pink skirt. Although this was only about 13 lbs he fought like a 30 pounder. He gave us a couple of nice deep runs until he surrendered.

Nah we don't fish professionally, we are just a bunch of old friends that have lived down here in south Florida all our lives and are familiar with the good spots. Although Mike T.(owner of Hook and Ladder) has been talking about opening up a charter on his spare time. If something does happen with that we will let you know. If you like Guy Harvey shirts, click the link and check out our fishing store.

Electronic Cigarette - Smokeless Cigarette While Fishing!

electronic cigarette

I wanted to give all of the fishermen out there some more information about a cool new way to smoke cigarettes while you are fishing out on the water but without having to use a lighter. I recently went out the other day just to go check on some GPS coordinates that my friend gave me and to check and see how the areas looked. The main purpose of this trip was to get the boat ready for future fishing trips that we are planning within a couple weeks.

I recently purchased an electronic cigarette and was using it while I was driving the boat. What is the electronic cigarette you may ask? Well it is just like a tobacco cigarette but you do not need to light it up, you don't inhale any carcinogens or smoke, or tar, and I use it to help me stop smoking. I was shocked because the electronic cigarette is helping me kick the smoking habit, to tell you the truth I like using the electronic cigarette better than the real stuff. Plus, these electronic cigarettes are 50% cheaper than regular tobacco cigarettes. It is a no brainer for me, better health while smoking and saving money? Those are some of the benefits of the electronic cigarette.
