Essiac Tonic

Essiac was originally given its name from the Nurse Rene Caisse.  Caisse spelled backwards is Essiac.  Essiac is a blend of four herbs that are grown native to the wilderness areas of Ontario, Canada.  The Ingredients that make up Essiac are Burdock Root, Slippery Elm, Sheep Sorrel and Indian Rhubarb Root.  The history of this formula dates back to native Canadian Ojibwa Medicine.


These four herbs that make up the Essiac formula help the body to normalize its systems by cleansing the blood, purging toxic build up, promoting healthy cell repair as it aids in effective assimilation and elimination.  It is believed that these herbs work synergistically and are more powerful combined then when taken separately.

Nurse Rene Caisse used ESSIAC to treat cancer. The following is an additional list of potentially promising therapeutic activity likely to be found in the ESSIAC decoction and/or in its individual components. When applied under favorable conditions it may:

  • Regulate cholesterol levels by transforming sugar and fat into energy
  • Halt diarrhea, check internal hemorrhaging and overcome constipation
  • Counteract the detrimental effects of aluminum, lead and mercury poisoning.
  • Strengthen and tighten muscles, organs and tissues.
  • Make bones, joints, ligaments, lungs, membranes strong and flexible, more durable and less vulnerable to stress.
  • Nourish and stimulate the brain and nervous system.
  • Promote the absorption of fluids in the tissues.
  • Remove toxic accumulation in the fat, lymph, bone marrow, bladder and alimentary canal.
  • Neutralize acids, absorb toxins in bowel and help to eliminate both.
  • Clear the respitory channels by dissolving and expelling mucus.

    Essiac is touted as an herbal remedy good for treating cancer, and it won't send you running for payday loans with no faxing for it. Essiac is an herbal tea (that's right, fighting cancer with tea) that has ingredients known to be good for one's health, such as red clover. Essiac is touted by some people as a cure for cancer, including one Billy Best, who has proclaimed its efficacy. Daniel Hauser decided not to undergo chemotherapy for his Hodgkins lymphoma. His mother, Colleen Hauser, took him to Mexico to avoid conventional treatments. Billy claims that he cured himself of his Hodgkins without low interest loans for chemo and thorough the use of Essiac.
