Sweeping statement #1 - everyone is psychic
Do you believe we all have the ability to communicate on a psychic level?
I have to confess something straight away, I have always known this to be fact. I know there are many who will argue with me and that's all good.
I ask doubters to be open-minded and maybe, just maybe they'll find themselves in a whole new World.
The lens pic is my friend's aura.

Memory
I'm betting that most people can't remember too much from their very early childhood but I have one startlingly early memory which has always sustained me and I have returned to that memory in times of trouble.
It hasn't always helped me but it has always been there, like a reassuring old friend, no-matter what the circumstances. Even when I felt like I was going to sink forever without a trace and had no idea how to pull my life back together, it was there.
This early memory is the proof that I have always known the physical body is only a part of us and not the most important part by a long way.
Sweeping statement #2 - There are two of us ...
... well not really. There is the physical 'I' and there is the spiritual, most people don't know the difference. And we communicate wittingly or unwittingly or both levels.
Sometimes we refer to this as "gut instinct" or simply a "hunch" about a person or place and sometimes this is the conscious mind drawing on subconscious knowledge but sometimes this can be because someone we are not aware of is standing right beside us to protect and guide us.
Sweeping statement with nothing to back it up ... read on ...
Once upon a time ...
To my left is the bed, against the wall over to the left is a large wardrobe, in the opposite corner to me, a dressing table, then the window and on the wall beside me is a tall dressing chest.
At the other side of the bed, a door flies open and two boys, giggling and laughing, come rushing into the room. The one chasing has something in his hand which sprays rainbow droplets and a woman runs in behind him, angry.
I am watching the rainbow droplets flash, spinning and changing shape as they fly across the room, I am watching them dissolve into the floral wallpaper, spreading out as they are soaked in, joining to simply be a dark patch but still spreading ... and I can hear a baby crying.
That baby is me, my body, but I am not yet really a part of it. My mood has not changed, I am placid, serene, floating free.
There are two of us.
That is my earliest memory and I was between a few hours and a few days old only. But it is the reason I have always known about the other side of our nature.
We are all born with this ability, most of us lose the earliest memories and therefore cannot relate to the experience but it's also the reason why, nomatter how quiet you are tiptoeing into a baby's nursery, there is a very good chance that you will wake them up. It isn't your footfalls the baby reacts to.
You may not think much goes on inside a newborn baby's head, you would be oh so wrong, far more goes on than you think, even when baby's physical form is apparently sleeping, baby is still aware.
Baby knows what mood you are in.
Me at a few months old.
I know it proves nothing ...
But it is not all.
As a young child I saw many things, people I was aware of who I eventually understood that I must not mention to others around me, for example. In many ways, I learned it was best to shut out what others could not see and that is sad but I always held that very first memory.
When times have been hard - and I won't bore you with that - I had that 'escape', knowing that it was not important in the greater scheme of things, this life is temporary. I can afford to be philosophical about the troubles which have tripped me up along the way.
Not that I always have been. There were times when events in this plane overcame me and I stumbled around in the dark, yet always, important events were preluded by a 'vision'. Sometimes of startling clarity.
I see the future.
Of course, this doesn't prevent me from attempting to let someone know of a concern but you can not be responsible for the decisions others take.
I know of someone who warned about a crime which would be committed but was powerless to prevent it and felt guilt and remorse over being unable to stop the crime from taking place.
Sometimes what I see is simply not specific enough to pin down and it is only after the event that the forewarning becomes clear.
And I see the past.
The vast majority of genuine sightings are not accompanied by fear. Individuals have been known to hold a conversation with someone they meet and later, describing the person they discover either that there was no such person there or that the description matches someone who used to live in the area.
My daughter and I have both experienced very similar 'impressions' down Mary King's Close in Edinburgh and our descriptions of one gentleman resident are pretty much identical.
We both felt his presence rather than seeing him but there was a second gentleman I was made aware of when a cat came from behind his legs and leaped across to another doorstep.
I am not the only one to have seen this cat, it has been reported before.
If you ever get the chance, you should go to Mary King's Close, it's a wonderful place, the spirits are friendly and it's a particularly poignant glimpse into history.
The picture is from a card I produce, Tomorrow's Child. Around the egg it reads Tomorrow is the child of today, born from the seed of yesterday.
A humorous encounter.
No-one would listen to me, of course, what would I know? Except that I did know, I had already been told she would come in the third week of August and I went into labour on the 19th.
I was 18 years old and I was miles away from everyone I knew as the doctor had me transferred to the nearest special care unit but in the middle of the night there was quite a group of people around the foot of my hospital bed. It was a small side ward, only one other patient and she was sound asleep.
A nurse suddenly walked in and as she passed the bottom of my bed, the group of people started to dissolve. I was halfway to sitting up and asking her not to walk so close when I saw them re-appear behind her and stopped myself speaking out ... what would she have thought, I wonder, how would she have reacted?
I can't help but think of that and snigger.
Mary King's Close - Edinburgh
Awarded Oddity of the Year by Good Britain Guide 2004.A Scottish Tourist Board 5* Historical Attraction.
The City Chambers on the Royal Mile was built after the Burgh authorities decided, in the mid 18th century, to develop a grand building, now the City Chambers. The Closes running down from the High Street (Royal Mile) towards what was at one time the open sewer of the Nor Loch (where Princes Street Gardens is now) were very steeply sloped and the top houses of four Closes were knocked down and parts of the lower sections were kept as foundations for the new building.
One of the strangest things when you are in Mary King's Close is to see the floor of the City Chambers (originally built as the Royal Exchange) "floating" 50 ft above you ... especially when you have already seen how solid and substantial that building is.
Although the ghosts which dwell in Mary King's Close are recorded as far back as the 17th century, thanks to Satans Invisible World Discovered by George Sinclair, there is a wealth of real history of ordinary lives to be found here.
Annually, in May, there is a ghost-fest. Information about this can be found on this webpage. The event runs for 10 days. Highlights for Ghost Fest 2008 included a scientific experiment from Edinburgh University's Koestler Parapsychology Unit and an exclusive event with Most Haunted star Richard Felix.
*gets calendar out for 2009*

Auras
This is my aura pic, I'm in there somewhere. It's only a few years ago that I had my aura picture taken. It came as a bit of a surprise but it does explain a few strange things which have happened to me over the years. Very small children often look at me and smile, even when they've been crying or grumpy before they see me. I even had a Dad comment 'she never does that for anyone' when his child gave me a huge smile and extended her hand.
I guess they're seeing something which looks like Mr Sunshine.
It's one more of the skills we have as children which we learn to shut out, although, my daughter recalls seeing auras when she was 8 or 9 years old and she thought everyone saw them.
Everyone has an aura, it's the energy field which surrounds you, and there are ways of practicing how to see auras but I don't want to go into them here ... I feel another lens in the making LOL
So, what do you think?

- I agree with you. Everyone has a psychic life that complements our biological life. More and more people learn to use spiritual and psychic abilities. Bueb work, congratulations.

- I agree with you: we are all psychic.
If you think about it, isn't talking a form of psychic communication? I have a thought that I want to convey to you, so I apply my will and make air molecules vibrate in a very precise way. You sense these vibrations and convert them back into language. Boom! Telepathy!

- It is only the conditioned mind that fails to perceive clairvoyance. Many don't believe in themselves. A very nice lens. Thank you and good day.

- I KNOW children are aware of things adults no longer pay attention to, but are still there. I've had some experiences that can't be explained. I had several visits from my dad after he died. And I've had prophetic dreams, not realizing they were until the event occurred. I believe most people have some psychic ability, but aren't aware of it. Very interesting lens.

- I love hearing about other people's experiences...it makes my own experiences seem less odd (o:
I too believe that children are aware of things that most adults are not. It is too bad that they are usually convinced that these things are just imagination!
Thanks for sharing...5*

- One of the most important experiences came in the form of a dream in which I saw my father fall at the bottom of the stairs. ~I was standing upstairs at the time looking down. Someone exclaimed "He's not breathing." My heart seemed to skip a beat and it began to dawn on me, as I looked at his body lying there, that he was dea.. But at that very moment, I felt his hands pinching or holding my shoulders, and he looked into my eyes and said "I'm right here." "I'm right here with with you." I awoke with a feeling that everything was OK and somehow understood it to be a message for later. I was 15 years old at the time. Years later, when I was 28, my father fell over at the bottom of those same stairs and died. And in another way, he is right here with me.

- I have had a few psychic experiences. I have even lived in a house where both my son and I saw spirits. It was spooky but I wasn't too bothered by it.

- Hello, fellow psychic! My psychic gifts have grown over the years from my original gift of clairsentience (I read energy via vibration). There's quite a few of us on Squidoo...maybe we should start a group: Psychics out of the closet (or something). :)
Here's a psychic joke that I like:
Two psychics meet on the street.
The first says to the second, "You're fine....how am I?"

- At around age 3, I was upset with my Mother and looked at her quite boldly and said, "I want to go back to my other Mommy now!" Her comment was that I didn't have another one. It really spooked her when I replied, "She was my Mommy before you and I miss her!"
I can't say that I see things for the future or the past necessarily but I am very aware that I have some sort of "sense" of people when I come in contact with them. A message sort of feeling comes over me around many people. A message like "Fragile", "Broken", "Loving", or "Dark". I've learned to listen to these message type feelings when they hit me...I can't think of a time that they were ever wrong.
