Parents needn't dread children's birthday bashes. There are a number of games, crafts and other activities that will not just please the birthday girl or boy, but will also keep all your guests entertained, regardless of age. Here are a few things you can do to make your next party memorable and uniquely fun for all your guests.

There are, of course, certain traditional games without which no party thrown for or by a child is ever complete. Some classics are Duck Duck Goose, Red Light Green Light and Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Musical Chairs, card games, bingo and charades are always favorites, and if you have a bit of space, you might also want to (let your kids) try treasures hunts, relay races, or maybe even the hilarious and famous three-legged race, where the participants are paired off, each person having one leg tied to their partner, and must then figure out how to get to the finishing line without falling over. Card games like Old Maid are a quieter option.

Crafts, while they can be messy and require a lot of cleaning up, are also one of the most rewarding activities you can provide your child and the guests. Nowadays, crafts kits designed specifically for children's parties are available, and these make things easier on the parents. You might want to try things like making cookies or cupcakes or ice-cream, making balloon animals, or creating sand art, making hand-print keepsakes, or even creating jewelry. Your guests can create their on party hats, or decorate them, or maybe even their accessories.
