Too intense a workout will give you great cardiovascular benefits, but if you want exercises burning body fat, you need to get this first stage right ...

... Aim for the 60-70% Heart Rate Zone!

This lower intensity workout burns more calories in comparison to the effort applied. Let's look at an example calculation:

For someone aged 23:
Target Peak Heart Rate = 220 - 23 (age) = 197
Lower Fat Burn Zone = 197 * 60% = 118
Higher Fat Burn Zone = 197 * 70% = 138
The target heart rate zone for this person would be 118 to 138
