Hope From The Word of God

I used to think that if God did something concrete that I could see or touch, it would be easy to believe Him for impossible things. You know, put some new teeth in my mouth and then I can believe you to heal the rest of my body kind of stuff. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. God showed me why in the book of Exodus.

From Drought to Destiny

A Devotional for Frustrated Christians

The Exodus Chronicles is the first of two very different books in a set. The first one is a commentary on the Book of Exodus. The second one called Morning At Last is more about finding the heart of God even when it feels like we've been forgotten. Because of the importance of these teachings, I have made them available as a Free download.

If you are wondering how relevant the book of Exodus is for you today, the answer may surprise you.

How many times have you told God that if He would just show you what to do, you would be successful? The book of Exodus shows us that is not necessarily so. Did you know that when God took the Hebrew people out of Egypt, they saw physical signs and wonders daily and they still missed their Promised Land?

This is not a technical word study of the book of Exodus. You don't have to be a scholar to understand it. It is simply a way for God to use a familiar story to help you get back on track.

If it is so good, why am I offering it FREE?

Frankly, I NEED YOUR HELP. This prophetic teaching is more than just another Bible Study. God has given me a word for those who have been waiting so long to receive what He has promised them but I can't reach them alone.

YOU CAN HELP

Download The Exodus Chronicles and read just two chapters. If you find that it stirs something inside of you and makes you see the book of Exodus from a new perspective, visit my Morning At Last Blog and leave a comment in the Exodus Chronicles section.

Then finish reading the book. It is only 84 pages so it won't take you long. If you feel that it was worth your while and God is speaking to you through the text, consider getting my other book Morning At Last!

NOTICE: As of July 24, 2008 you can get Morning At Last! as a free download. It will only cost you if you prefer to have it in a paperback form.

The two books actually work together. The Exodus Chronicles warns us that we are in danger of missing what God has promised us. Morning At Last explains what has happened to bring us to this place and what we can do about it.

Finally, TELL SOMEONE ELSE about it. Sharing good news is what Christians do best!

We'll Understand It Better By and By...

The good thing about being older :-)

When my children were little they would sometimes drive me nuts with their constant "why".

Dad is sleeping.
Why?
He worked late last night.
Why?
We need money to pay our bills.
Why?
That's the way things work in this world.
Why?
Just because
Why?
Because I said so, now go play...

If you have spent any time around little children you know that they have such a thirst to know how things work that they can't help asking questions. The thing is that there are some things they can't understand until they have enough of a knowledge base to build on.

It's the same thing with the Kingdom of God. We begin our walk as little children with a lot of questions. Unfortunately there are things we can't yet understand so we have to learn to just trust God and know that when we are able, we will understand. In fact, one of the first lessons we have to learn is that He really does love us. God is Love. It's fact. We look at the things that happen around us and can't understand how they could be happening if there is a God of love. We would not have created such a mess and then we are told that He is perfect and sovereign. It's hard to understand isn't it?

That's one of the reasons He sent the Holy Spirit to help us. The more we spiritually mature, the more He can help us understand.

For me, Exodus was that book in the Bible that told about Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. The plagues were interesting and crossing the Red Sea certainly captured my imagination. In all honesty, I preferred to skip the end of the book where it talked about setting up the Tabernacle. In general, it made for a good children's Sunday School lesson or even video. By taking another look at it through slightly more mature glasses, I realized that it answered some of my "Whys". What a satisfying moment that was. :0)

You Are What God Calls You.

and you can do what He says you can do.

I didn't know that 2008 would be the year that God asked me to write a book. I especially didn't know that He would ask me to write a second one right after I finished the first one. Not being a person who remembers dreams, it was surprising to receive one showing me the condition of so many of my peers and what He wanted me to do about it. You can find more about that at the Morning At Last link above.

I wonder what surprises He has for YOU this year?

God Is Good!

What has He done for you lately? Got a praise report?

Sometimes it's the little things that encourage us to keep trusting Him.
Ever ask God for a parking space when there aren't any and one opens up just where you need it?
What about that wonderful feeling of peace you had when things weren't going right?

Yes, I like your lens, and mine has a lot about Exodus, too. I am a layman who preaches once a month in my local church, and have studied extensively on how the Old and New Testament fit together. You are so right about Exodus being a key narrative. Keep adding some material to this, and feel free to visit my lenses for reference material. I have books that you don't list, and links to other web articles that support your concept. Thanks.

I was also taught from the book of Exodus!

It's an incredible story with so many different facets, you have to read it over and over again to glean every nugget of information and inspiration!
I love your lenses, Gandree. I'm looking through more mature glasses too... The view is great from here!
God really is LOVE, he really LOVES us, and that's really great news!
Godspeed, Sister!
