My avatars are always cropped from my paintings ^_^ Because I like looking at them, and because I'm not putting a photo of myself up, and because... well, it ties in with most of my lenses and sites.
I update as I improve or get bored... as I have a LOT of pictures, I get a lot of freedom here ^_^

I use different avatars at different sites but most of the time I use a picture of one of my tea bag folding designs. I picked this one because the blue goes with the Squidoo background and mod titles. I opted for a photo in SquidU because I decided a face forward was good with conversation. Thanks, kab

My avatar is me, circa 1953, which hints at the meaning of the 52 in my online identities (Susan52 and my52cents). Besides, I was a lot cuter then than I am now!

My avatar is the same one I use throughout the net, on MSN, facebook, twitter, the lot. It is simply myself in Southpark style. I may consider changing it, but my wife thinks it is great. I have a couple of photos of myself on my bio page as well. I tried to simpsonize myself before, but it never really worked.

kab, I always loved your avatar. It's one of the first ones that really "stuck" in my mind in my early days of Squidoo.

Obviously my avatar is a picture of me...but it was taken at my daughter's graduation from Naropa University. A very happy day. Here's my funny story about N376 (Glen's) avatar in the SquidU Forums. I always liked it because I thought it was a picture of him and that he was so positive with that thumbs up and looking rather like George Clooney. Then one day I realized that WAS a picture of George Clooney. Nevertheless, I have quite a crush on N376 because of that avatar! I'll bet he's bald or something in "real" life.

My avatar is just a picture of myself, playing my acoustic guitar. Its a bad pic (angle) really, and I want to get another one.

My avatar is li'l ol' me (eight years ago), at the moment I finished a six-month hike on the Appalachian Trail. That journey is so much a part of who I am now. It was the most wonderful experience of my life--and the most challenging, the most rewarding, difficult and exciting, too. I still think and write about different aspects of the hike and am looking forward to another long trek, so I like to use that photo quite often. I also sometimes use a "photo" of the creature that inspired my trailname (a long-distance backpacker's nickname), which is Ramkitten (also my username on Squidoo and elsewhere). As far as I know, there's only one Ramkitten still in existance.

My Avatar choice is really simple -- It is just plain me! I choose it to correspond with my eBay personality. On eBay I believe it is helpful to be able to see who you are dealing with.

Well, I originally had that pink sunset picture that comes automatically with Windows computers, I LOVE PINK! But then I noticed a few other people who had them so I decided to change it so it did not seem like I just put it up there because I needed a picture. So I went onto Flickr, typed in Pink Flowers, and that came up. I loved that pink about it and how it was so soft and sweet. I thank the person who took the photo, it ROCKS!
I do not like putting photos of myself on there because I like to be safe and keep myself partially hidden. Besides, I LOVE PINK FLOWERS!
Not much of a story, but there you go.

Usually, I have a cropped pic of me (half of my face which a friend did for me) but this one is one of my better images of me (I look different in every single image I have) I need people to know who I am because of my job :)

When I joined Squidoo I was planning to publish a lens about what we went through when one of my children was bullied. It was part therapy and also partly wanting to help other families who may be faced with what we had to cope with. I also wanted to provide a link to the diary I kept. For this reason I knew I could not reveal my real identity, because then the children I was writing about would be indentified.
So I looked around the net and found "Simpsonise me". As a family we love the Simpsons - and strangely enough those who know me say my avatar is actually quite like me............

On most sites, I use a picture of something/someone I like *cough*Lord Sesshomaru*cough*, but when I joined Squidoo, I actually went a used a real picture of myself. I figured, when people by books, they like to look on the back to see a picture of the author, and for me, Squidoo is all about writing stuff (thus my lenses average 7,500 - 20,000 words per lens - ouch! I guess you can tell how much I like writing!). I think of my Squidoo lenses as a branch of my non-fiction writing, so I decided to treat it as such and put my *author bio* picture up as my Squidoo avatar, since my readers instantly recognize me by that picture, thus when they see it here on Squidoo, they know that once again, they are reading something I wrote.

Umm. And of course, right after I leave my comment here, I end up changing my avatar. :-) I just kind of like the idea of something that isn't _actually_ me. Feels safer somehow.

I change my avatar to this picture because you could see my face without seeing too much of me, I look happy and like a person you'd like to know, and the orange makes it stand out. It's from my trip to Sudan in 2007, so it also has fond memories for me.

My avatar is the Aum - the sacred syllable from India. It represents my spiritual interests, because it stands for spiritual growth and enlightenment. Explained more about it here: http://www.squidoo.com/aum-om

I made this avatar myself. It is what I see when I close my eyes really tight. It's colorful, fun, and recognizable, but doesn't really tell you anything about me. I guess that's why I like it.
