The internet can find you anything you want. It has literally replaced the yellow pages, want ads, most newspaper advertising as well as other sources. With one click of the mouse you are at your favorite search engine looking for anything you may want. Now you can find a whole new way to train online as well. Online personal training is a fairly new concept with very few people doing it. The biggest advantage to online training would have to be that it is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. No matter what your schedule your online trainer is always there ready to go when you are. We all lead very busy lives these days. I don't know anyone who works a regular 40-hour workweek and even less family's with only 1 working parent. So convenience and flexible times are a must in this day and age.

Cost is another huge factor. If you want to train in your own home as opposed to a gym a trainer will charge you a lot more per session just because he/she has to travel. If you train in a gym you have to pay both your gym membership and the trainer. Your online personal training will cost you a lot less per month because there are no travel costs and no gym fees. Because you are learning via the Internet you will usually pay a low monthly fee as opposed to a much higher per session fee.

Online personal training is much more private then training in a gym. In a gym there are almost always people working out, staff working and even people touring the gym to see if they are interested in joining. Training in your own home means no one is watching unless you invite them to. You don't even have a trainer watching you. You can go at your own pace and not feel uncomfortable or watched.

With online personal training there is no travel involved. This means no leaving the house in bad weather. No missing a session because of snow, rain or even roadwork delays. You schedule your workout when you want, not on someone else's time so you do not have any specific appointments to keep.

Childcare is also not a problem when you're training at home either. If you have kids it is much easier to keep them occupied in your own home. No worrying about the person watching them and they also will learn the value of keeping fit and staying in shape. They will see you on a regular routine and want to do the same when they are old enough.

I think one of the biggest advantages would have to be that you are held accountable. When you have a trainer waiting for you at the gym it will tend to push you a little more to get in there and workout. It's too easy to put it of until tomorrow. When you have someone waiting for you it definitely helps keep you on track and on schedule.

Motivation can be another big plus. This will also depend on how good your trainer is with motivation. A good trainer will not only push you to your limits but also help you go beyond them. They will know what buttons to push to get that extra rep out or ad that extra pound of weight you may not have tried on your own.

Spotting is another advantage. There are some people that will actually pay someone just to be there spotter. A spotter is someone that basically follows the motion of your weighted movements and helps you get past the point you may not have been able to do on your own. They are also there to make sure that you do not get hurt. If the weight becomes too much a spotter is there to grab it so you can avoid injury.

Just as privacy was an advantage to online training some people train better in a gym environment. The sight of other people training can be very motivating and it can become a social activity as well. The main thing you need to do is stay focused on your workout and socialize later. Sometimes the social aspect can make you miss workouts or cut them short because you lost track of time. Do your socializing after your training.

Professional equipment is a big plus as well. Unless you have a ton of cash and room to build a dream gym in your home nothing beats the variety of equipment and exercises that can be done in a fully equipped gym. By doing different exercises and using different pieces of equipment it is much easier to keep your routine fresh and effective.

With spring in full swing it's time to get in shape. Warmer weather means less clothing to cover up those extra pounds you may have gained from the winter hibernation. One of the biggest questions for many is what is the fastest way to lose fat and reshape your body. Doing cardio (jogging,biking,aerobics,etc.) will get you started but if you really want to see a difference fast you need to add resistance training to your routine. Resistance training does not have to be a hardcore bodybuilding weight routine and can even be done with little more then your own body weight.

Too many people put off resistance training because they believe they should either start dieting first or start doing cardio first. The truth is actually the opposite. Resistance training will not just build muscle but also kick start your metabolism as well as burn fat much quicker then diet and cardio. Your body will start to show changes very quickly, which in turn will motivate you to then do more cardio and watch your food intake more carefully.

Another reason people delay resistance training is soreness. Personally I like the feeling of some muscle soreness, it lets me know I worked hard and that my body is healing itself to become stronger and more efficient. Another thing muscle soreness does for me is reminds me when I want to eat something bad of how hard I worked, so do I really want to negate by eating something that's not so healthy for me. When I work hard I tend to eat better because I just don't want to do all that work for nothing.

Bottom line is if you want to reshape your body and start seeing results fast you need to add resistance training to your routine now. Be smart and start slow, especially if you have never done resistance training before. Find a good program, follow it and stay consistent and you will meet your fitness goals in no time.
