The Foundation For A Better Life
Ranked #542 in Nonprofits, #147,217 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund
IN THIS DAY AND AGE, IT CAN BE HARD TO BELIEVE AN ORGANIZATION'S ONLY GOAL IS TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO GOOD - BUT THAT REALLY IS WHY WE EXIST.
The mission of The Foundation for a Better Life, through various media efforts, is to encourage adherence to a set of quality values through personal accountability and by raising the level of expectations of performance of all individuals regardless of religion or race. Through these efforts, the Foundation wants to remind individuals they are accountable and empowered with the ability to take responsibility for their lives and to promote a set of values that sees them through their failures and capitalizes on their successes. An individual who takes responsibility for his or her actions will take care of his or her family, job, community, and country.
Life's Lessons In Kindness
How others changed my life by giving of themselves
When you think of things that happen in life it's easy to be bitter. I've had my share of tragedy in life, just like anyone else, but by watching the actions of others, I found healing and growth in the little kindnesses people have shown me.*The anonymous person who left much needed items on our lawn after the sudden death of our infant son.
*The people who gave (and to continue to give) on behalf of the groups I serve in Africa.
*The ladies from church who cleaned my house when I was on bed rest for five months.
*Friends and family who have listened, forgiven and endured with me my whole life.
*My husband and kids, who are good sports and hold the fort while I'm out globetrotting.
There are endless examples I can give, but the point is WHY should these things be the exception and not the rule? So I challenge you to take the high road, and purpose to make your life, every contact not matter how big or small, count for something.
You don't have to change the world, just show one person you care, every day.
Quote Of The Day
"There is nothing we like to see so much as the gleam of pleasure in a person's eye when he feels that we have sympathized with him, understood him. At these moments something fine and spiritual passes between two friends. These are the moments worth living."
-Don Marquis (1878-1937), author, humorist, journalist

- Ah, that person would be my grandma Julia Nagy. So many times I remember when all of us kids and Mom moved in with her and grandpa -- I was in 9th grade. The house was a 2 bedroom bungalow with 1 bath and a basement. 3 of us slept down the basement. It was a tough time for everyone. And, school was no picnic. Grandma was there each and every day to give us courage and wisdom. She is my hero!

- 50 years ago at the Boulder municipal swimming pool a man asked me if I had taken a roll of dimes out of his clothing basket. As I returned it to him without even speaking, he told me I could have it if I needed it. I have always appreciated not getting into trouble about that. But to the stranger's credit I have also appreciated the life lesson I learned from him that I didn't need anyone else's property; not more than I needed their friendship.

- Thinking back, when the kids were, 9 and 3, I was trying hard to survive. I had requested prayer from my church. The very next morning the Lord had blessed us with a gift of money. It was and still is overwhelming when I think of it. Dang it, I'm crying now. AWESOME left u 5*

- My stepson and I love to feed empty parking meters in our neighborhood. A ticket is $40... ouch! Sometimes we get caught and people say thanks. They're generally surprised by a random act of kindness like that. ~ Kim
