A three day intensive workshop for women entrepreneurs
Ranked #10,417 in Business & Work, #256,376 overall | Donates to Acumen Fund
DEADLINE HAS PASSED... Three days to go to a new level
SORRY, the deadline for applications has passed. I'll be alerting everyone by email by the 12th of October...
The first three days of November (1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2010), I'm hosting about a dozen women in my office for an intensive workshop about you and your business.
This page will give you an overview of what it's about and help you decide if you want to apply. It's free to apply and free to attend. Late applications are discarded, so please read carefully... (You'll need to read this entire page carefully in order to find the application).
The goal of the session is to help you connect to other women doing the work you're doing, and to shine a light on what you're doing right (and what can be done even better). Read on for the details. And feel free to spread the word.

What's at stake
I think that building an organization that does incredible work is one of the highest callings. It requires an almost limitless combination of talent, resources and guts, and it's not easy.Too often, entrepreneurs find themselves isolated or out of touch. Too often, there aren't enough role models. Too often, we get stuck in a cycle of denial or blame or fear and can't leverage our way out of it.
These three days in November are aimed at cutting through some of that at the same time we celebrate and amplify exactly what's working--and do it more.
I've done this before (click the picture for details on the first, longer MBA I ran). I well understand that we can't possibly cover a fraction of what we did in that longer program. But I'm hopeful that we can make a real impact and some connections that might serve you really well as you continue to grow your business.
Logistics
Before you spend a lot of time working on this, consider these non-changable details:0. Applications are due no later than noon EST on October 9th. We process applications on a rolling basis. We'll alert everyone no later than October 12th.
1. You'll need to arrive in New York the night before, which overlaps with Halloween, the official holiday of Snickers-gorging kids. (Click the picture of the Fe symbol to the right for the application).
2. We start at 9:20 a.m. each day. There's an 8:20 train from Grand Central Station or you can camp out at a nearby hotel. We usually finish by 4 each day.
3. The workshop is open only to women (surprise DNA testing may occur) and only to women who own and run their own business.
4. You're responsible for travel and hotel.
5. The three days are free of charge.
6. There's no long-distance or digital access to the session. This is intimate, small scale and off the record.
7. A lot of people are likely to apply, and I apologize in advance if you don't get in. Chalk that up to randomness and the informal application process, not a defect of any kind on your part. Please don't send emails or create a hoopla to get my attention or to ask questions or lobby about these rules, it will backfire.
8. Please don't apply if you're not quite facile with English, if you worry about a visa or if you're not certain you can attend if you get in. If you think this is for you, click on the Fe picture to the right and it will take you to the application.
9. It'll be fun. Promise.
