Made Possible By Advertising

I personally believe the most cost-effective way to enhance revenue growth for a small business is to optimize use of The Internet - not just for one individual business's benefit, but collectively (if possible) for the small business community overall. I believe FREE Wi-Fi with splash page advertising is an important tool in that regard.

According to numerous news reports going back to 2003, the introduction of Wi-Fi has shown to attract considerable additional foot traffic in public venues like restaurants, coffee shops and book stores. Today, you will even find Wi-Fi being used in such diverse places as water parks, auto repair shops and doctor offices. Why? Because Wi-Fi provides a means for the public to meet REAL NEEDS - to check email, surf the Web and make VOIP phone calls.

The introduction of FREE Wi-Fi further expands this benefit to the public by stopping the money meter. By implementing splash page advertising, where local businesses are allowed to advertise to pay the Wi-Fi connection expense, you suddenly provide a cost-effective means for small businesses to impressively spread their business message using print, audio and video to a target market.

Make no mistake, the more business activity that can be generated, the more revenue the county will have to meet the needs of its growing community. FREE Wi-Fi with splash page advertising can help facilitate that process. It is a green technology solution.

The HDTV is not a Wi-Fi device, but it can become one - and much more - when you connect a laptop to it. And, that is very easy to do. Just plug in the VGA connector from your laptop to the back of the HDTV. While the HDTV can be easily mounted on the wall, I suggest it be placed on a mobile TV stand and used in a conference room in addition to a showroom for the showing of special presentations.

Own A FREE Wi-Fi Hot Spot

Or Just Be A Splash Page Advertiser

While turning a storefront into a Wi-Fi hot spot is a rather simple task, having a secure Wi-Fi signal that is free of hacking and viruses and is monitored 24/7 to stay that way, requires special equipment and expertise. The Wi-Fi Company of Denver, CO has both.

A FREE Wi-Fi hot spot not only attracts a crowd, it provides a public service to the community - enabling them to check email, surf the Web and make FREE VOIP phone calls with Google Talk and Skype. But, that is not all. A FREE Wi-Fi hot spot can generate revenue through splash page advertising for the hot spot owner and at the same time provide cost-effective advertising promotion for local businesses.

Whether you own a storefront that is a coffee shop, restaurant, book store or some other high, foot-traffic location, you can become a Wi-Fi hot spot advertiser...and for less money than you might otherwise think.

Ting's Thai Kitchen wanted not only to offer FREE Wi-Fi for their customers, but splash page advertising for local businesses. Why? To draw more revenue for the overall community. And, this they did with help from CDMM - Synergistic Business Marketing. The process began with a wireless router flashed with proprietary software and hooked up to an Internet connection. Then, there was the creation of an online 24/7 web presence on Squidoo.com. See for yourself. Visit Ting's Thai Kitchen.

Scenario 1 - If you are a storefront that would like to become a Wi-Fi hot spot and solely advertise your business, you can do it for a one-time set-up fee of $154.00 and a monthly maintenance fee of only $69.00. Folks will see your ad in the process of logging onto the Wi-Fi. The advertising can be in the form of a display ad, video or both. And, once-a-month it can changed at no additional charge. Plus, you can request marketing feedback. This means you can actually know how often your Wi-Fi ad has been viewed during the course of a month. You can also purchase a Wi-Fi digital photo frame to further promote your business at your storefront. As a show of appreciation for your business, a Squidoo lens will be created for your use and signed over to you.

Scenario 2 - If you are a storefront that chooses to open up your hot spot to other advertisers, you simply have to accumulate a minimum of seven businesses willing to commit to a 3-month contract with CDMM. The cost is a mere $300 ($100/month)made payable in advance. As the host location, you will not only get FREE Wi-Fi for your customers, but for your business as well. In addition, you will receive a Wi-Fi digital frame that will promote both your business and those of your advertisers. This Wi-Fi frame will be remotely programmed. All you have to do is plug the digital frame into the wall socket.

Scenario 3 - If you are a business without a storefront, do not despair. There may be a place within the CDMM Wi-Fi Network that meets your needs. The cost? $300($100/month) for a 3-month minimum contract that is payable in advance.

In all three scenarios, CDMM will assist in the creation of the advertising and the online web presence (Squidoo lens) to go with it. In Scenario 1, the host location owns the account and is responsible for its continuation. In Scenario 2, the host location is responsible for finding the advertisers, but does not own the account. The account is owned by CDMM. That account may need to be moved or closed if advertisers do not continue to support it. In Scenario 3, the advertiser is purchasing splash page advertising space at a Wi-Fi hot spot and receiving a Squidoo lens as an additional benefit.

About Lamar_Morgan

Looking back, my greatest thrill during my college years was being given the opportunity to represent Florida Technological University (what is now the University of Central Florida) as a photojournalist for the grand opening of Walt Disney World. For me, this was the kind of memory-maker that almost eclipsed the Bi-centennial of the United States in 1976.

I was a retail copywriter for the Sears South Florida Advertising Group in Miami, FL following my graduation from college.  However, I left Miami after less than a year to pursue better opportunities in advertising in Atlanta, GA.  While attending night school classes at Emory University,  the lure of Wall Street got my attention.  When an opportunity to go to work for Bear Stearns arose, I took it.  I spent nearly 16 years of my life with the Wall Street firm of Bear Stearns.   During that time I worked in the Retail, Institutional Equity and Fixed Income Institutional Departments providing administrative support - including the pricing of securities.

In my spare time during my tenure with Bear Stearns, I became the president of a local computer user group, Amiga Atlanta, Inc.  In 1996,  I wrote a proclamation for the club which was signed and stamped with the Georgia State Seal by then-Governor Zell Miller.  CNN and PBS actually co-hosted a banquet I organized honoring this club.  A representative from Gov. Zell Miller's office attended and read that proclamation to an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom had actually flown into Atlanta for the banquet. The banquet was amazing.  It lasted five hours.

In the summer of 2001, I moved from Atlanta, GA to Middletown, CA to address specific health issues.  I became a contractor to The Geysers - the world's largest geothermal operation. I also became more involved in business networking - both online and offline.  I joined the Middletown Merchants Association (now the Middletown Area Business Association) and became the business mixer and promotions coordinator.  My involvement in "the Merchants" led to my active involvement in two other organizations - Mt. Konocti Facilitation and the Middletown Central Park Association. (The park association is in charge of the annual parade and festival known as "Middletown Days.")

In January of 2004, I formed a small marketing company.  While this company was designed to assist professional speakers in acquiring keynote speaking engagements, I have also assisted small retail businesses - and even my own local community - in garnering media attention.

In 2006, I put together a marketing campaign utilizing local high school students, a county marketing association and a worldwide online business network.  The result? The Fox News Channel made a 10-hour trip from Los Angeles to Middletown for "Middletown Days."  Fox News correspondent Adam Housley addressed the parade crowd and got the town mentioned on the network.  This was a first in the 45-year history of the event!  Since nothing succeeds like success, both local students and teachers took note.  Whereas last year's campaign involved only 30 students, this year's campaign garnered around 100.  Unlike the previous year's effort, this time every student participating received community service credit toward graduation.

During the past year, I have brought Adobe Systems, the FBI (regarding Infragard), Scala, Sling Media and The Foundation Center to Lake County to provide special education opportunities for the citizenry. Presently, I am focused on introducing FREE Wi-Fi hot spots with splash page advertising to the county and getting the county ordinance on signage updated to include digital signage.
