Face Painting Designs Tips - Beginners Starter Kit Requirements To Face Paint at Your Kids' Birthday Parties
Hiring a face painter can run quite expensive depending on how many children there are at the party and how long her services will be required. So, If you have an artistic side to you that's bursting to come out, then learning how to do face painting designs for yourself is not only a great hobby and extremely gratifying, but you'll save yourself a tidy sum of money in the process. Here are a few tips that may come in handy and help to keep your party running smoothly...
- First of all make sure that the face paint you buy complies with the required rules that are needed for face painting. A small to medium palette of colours will suffice, but ensure it has the all-important primary colours, eg red, blue, yellow, white and black. Having these colours means you can mix any other colour out of the ones you already have.
- Have a mixture of brushes, eg a large brush for the thicker and wider strokes, two or three medium-sized brushes and one or two smaller brushes for the really fine lines and any dots. If at all possible, especially if it's a rather large party, see if you can get a friend to learn some face painting designs, or just go with you so that you can do it together.
- A fold-up table like a card table would make an ideal area to place all your paints and water pots, etc, and maybe a couple of foldaway chairs.
- Sort out a specific area just for yourself for the face painting and maybe have some numbers you can give the children so that no-one jumps the queue, thus avoiding any squabbles. If you're quite new to face painting, don't have too many designs on offer to start with, just a few. Having a book of your favourite face painting designs available for the children to be looking through while they're waiting for their turn is a good idea.
- There are various opinions on face painting sponges. Some buy standard make-up sponge wedges, while others just cannot get on with them and will only use face painting sponges. Round ones are a good buy, and, you can cut costs down by cutting them in half. Sea sponges are great for blending work. Face Painting Designs
Face Painting Designs Essentials
- A container filled with water for washing your brushes out and, if you're going to be really busy, an extra bucket of water will come in handy to replenish your brush water as it gets dirty.
- .A mirror is essential for you to show off your beautiful face painting designs to your little clients.
- As a beginner, you'll be nervous enough to be a bit messy so make sure you have plenty of spare rags to wipe your painted hands plus some baby wipes and cotton buds for quick fixes on smudges, etc.
- Don't forget that children don't always want full painted faces. There are half faces and cheek designs, and what about hands, arms, legs and even feet?
- Have some fake blood handy for those little monsters, vampires and Draculas to drip from painted teeth. For your princess designs, butterflies and similar, have some various coloured glitter and stick-on jewels to hand.
- Last tip - Practise, practise, practise. You will only ever get out what you put in. And have fun. Don't worry about making mistakes with any face painting designs, it's amazing how easy it can be to cover them up. Click here to learn how to do easy face painting designs now!
HALLOWEEN: Kiddies Love Scary Monster Face Painting
HALLOWEEN FACE PAINTING DESIGNS IDEAS: These will help bring out the monster in your children! With the best intention, looking hurt is very popular! Blood is the must-have look during Halloween so, if you want to appear as though you've been attacked by the local crazy guy or in a fight with a chainsaw, add modelling wax to your face and create the illusion of deep wounds and gashes.
Colour the edges of these fake wounds with red or purple. Halloween face painting tip: Use more purple the older you want to look. Add trails of blood drooling out of the wound and down your shirt. There are all manner of gigantic plastic axes, arrows and knives you can use and all you need to do for the finishing touches is just add the fake blood to the edges of all the wounds and gashes. Using these clever Halloween face painting designs tips will help ensure you get the right look.
One of the most popular costumes of all time is the Vampire! You can always count on the Count to be popular with both the male child and adult every Halloween! Make-up is easy and a must! Try to blacken your hair and smooth it flat to the head, forming it into a point at the front.
Using a sponge rather than a brush, paint all the face white. For the best effects, let that coat dry and then add another coat. Put plenty on as you want it as white as possible. For real effects, add dark eyeliner on the edges of the eyes - best to let the wife or girlfriend do it for safety! and, if you feel inclined, then how about some black contact lenses. You would be amazed at the effect that will create.
Bloody fangs: Now we need some fangs with blood on the edges and dripping slightly from the corners of the mouth. Great fangs can be acquired to add that super touch. Get the ones with blood already on them and you know your bloody look will stay put for the night.Boys love being animals whether it be werewolves, dogs or lions and tigers, and pouncing on unsuspecting victims is all part of the fun. For werewolves, you will need the modelling wax; try to make those lines on the forehead stand out, while on the cheeks make it seem as though you are growing a snout.
Halloween gives everyone the opportunity to let their hair down and get creative, and there's nothing we like more than to face paint your favourite monster, vampire or ghoul. This step by step face painting designs course has all the traditional and popular designs that children love. Face Painting Designs

All Year Round Face Painting - CHEEK ART

Cheek Art Face Painting is obviously going to be a lot easier than full face as the designs are just focused on the cheeks. These are not so time-consuming when you're doing a large number of children so time will be on your side, making it easier for those fidgety little mites who find it difficult to sit still for any length of time. Although cheek face painting designs are by nature a lot smaller than full face painting designs, it's a great little extra to add to your already growing talent as a face painter. Cheek face paintings a big hit at children's parties, fetes and school functions, and is popular all year round. Face Painting Designs Christmas Face Painting Designs

STENCIL GUIDE
YOU WILL NEED:
Stencil paint brushes.
A piece of stiff plastic or acetate. Using see-through would be an advantage.
Low-tack Tape.
Your stencil design. If you have an artistic side, you can draw your own or download one and remember to offer various sizes for each design.
You will need a hard surface to cut the stencil out on; a cutting board would be ideal.
(1) - Tape down your stencil securely on the edges to the acetate and with your sharp craft knife carefully cut out your stencil along the edges. Use your free hand to help hold the stencil in place.
(2) - Once your stencil is cut out, smooth out any untidy or rough edges as they will affect the finished look of your design while painting.
(3) - Make sure you use the correct painting brush for use with stencils, usually round with short stiff bristles.
(4) - It is always best to work from the outside in. If you are comfortable using sponges, these work well on stencils, too. Try not to overload either with paint and use quick up and down movements with the brush. This will help prevent paint seeping under the stencil edges. Use the fingers of your free hand to hold down the small parts of the stencil while you apply the paint.
(5) - Patience is a virtue. Remember your finished creation will look best if you do a couple of thin coats. Always make sure the first layer is dry before applying the second.
(6) - Use Low-tack tape to keep the stencil in place while you paint.
(7) - As it's Christmas, you cannot go wrong with some festive stencil designs like a Christmas star, snowflakes (even i remember folding up paper and cutting all different bits out to make snowflake patterns), Christmas trees, Santa face, Holly and berries, and snowmen.
(8) - Practice, practice and more practice, but, more importantly, it is Christmas so have lots of fun and don't worry if you make any mistakes. Highlight your designs with some white or shading, add a touch of glitter and you will be amazed how a simple design can suddenly be transformed.

- My children used to love facepainting. One year we found crayons that could be dipped in water at an art store and used as facepaint. It was so much easier than using a brush. They spent several months perfecting techniques either on eachother or using a mirror.
Thank you for sharing so many different possible paints, brushes and inspiring books.
