Real Trees Smell Like Christmas

But Artificial Holiday Trees are Cleaner & Convenient

Leg Lamp Christmas Tree OrnamentGranted, one of the biggest irks about real Christmas trees is the bugs and potential allergy problems they can bring. Some of the bugs might enjoy meeting your "other" plants in the house. So you need to be aware of that.

Another issue that you need to know about the artificial Holiday tree is that once you buy the one you like, and store it properly in the off-season... you can take it out and put it up anytime you want! It is probably a good choice for those who are very busy. And besides, have a fake Christmas tree that is easier to get set up means you have MORE time to do your Christmas shopping, cooking or fun stuff with the family and close friends.

Here is one more thing about fake Christmas trees, you can get one for each and every room in the house you want. Imagine how excited the children will be to decorate their "own" Christmas tree!

On the other hand (and you knew this was coming), there is nothing that says Christmas then that wonderful piney scent of the real tree. You can walk into a room with this tree and instantly know that it really is Christmas. And here is another great thing about Christmas trees... they are real and look real. You don't have any plastic poles sticking out of the limbs or the real trees don't "look" fake either.

It is a decision that you are going to have to make. For many people, they don't like too much nature. Others, getting a bringing in a real Christmas tree is a family tradition (more on this later).

Decorating and Putting Away the Trees

Get a Artificial Holiday TreeHere's another advantage of the real Xmas trees... they can be easier to decorate because the branches are thinner and more flexible. And besides, some of the artificial Christmas trees require assembly... but hey, nothing in life worth having is that easy... right?

For those who like in the city, getting rid of the real Christmas trees can be as easy and just dragging them to the curbs where the city or even the local Boy Scouts can swing by and pick them up for you.

For fake Christmas trees, you will have to take it apart which means removing each branch by sections and making sure you label them so you can put them back in the right slots next year. And then storing everything in a box or even a plastic container so the branches don't break off or get deformed by heavy things that are in the storage location too.

Truth be known, deciding on which type of Christmas tree you want is a choice that you are going to have to make. But once you do... I want you to enjoy your Christmas holiday with your family and close fr

Christmas Trees - Tradition or Convenience?

Oh Joy!! I Do Have Some Christmas Stories for You...

My Christmas StoriesLet me give you a real world example of the both types of Christmas trees. One of my best friends has a family tradition in which they all go trooping out of town to a lot to select the best tree to chop down and bring back into the house.

And every year like clockwork... my friend gets his full sized pickup truck stuck in the snow. And his daughters and wife has to pull him out with their SUV. It is hilarious and it is still fun. It is a big job because they always get a big tree which can be quite heavy and messy inside the house. But the smells and the excitement of the family makes it all the worthwhile.

On the flip side of the coin, my other best friend's wife love being clean and tidy. She had him put out all the Christmas tree stuff in the family room. And while he and I played some pool upstairs for a while... when we come down... the tree was up and flashing and all pretty... just amazing how you can get all set up and running with an artificial Xmas tree.

And I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do... I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

We don't actually put up a tree, real or fake. When we decorate, we just decorate the house or bushes outside (it's kind of hard to decorate a ponderosa pine). Mostly, though, we just enjoy everyone else's holiday decorations.

We purchased an artificial tree about 25 years ago and we have never been sorry. We talked about the lack of smell and bought a pine scented candle and set it, unlit of course, at the base of the tree. No one knew the difference. Like one of the Dilbert cartoons... the only thing that knows the difference between the live plants and the fake plants are bugs. And they are way smarter than most people! :)

I live in a tropical country so our Christmas tree has always been fake (: We do decorate the real trees outside our home too, they just don't look like the traditional pine Christmas trees. Great lens! (:
