Bethesda revolutionized the first person shooter RPG when they introduced Fallout 3 to the world by the invent of the V.A.T.S. system. Fallout 3 was a great game with great gameplay. Some of the gripes about Fallout 3 were that Bethesda was unable to deliver the same kind of dark humor that the original 2 Fallout games were known for. This being said, Bethesda has leased the rights to the Fallout franchise to Obsidian. Obsidian is comprised of, ironically, the original creators of the Fallout series. Their storytelling talent, combined with Bethesda's system should make a great sequel to Fallout 3. I will be updating this lens with when news about New Vegas is released.

Fallout New Vegas Online Guide

New Vegas is an immense world filled with people and monsters who want you dead. At times it can be frustrating and confusing. Luckily the fine people at Gamespot have put together an online game guide to help you through some troubling times. Check it out here.

Bugs and Patches for New Vegas

If you are worried about the game being buggy, and buggy it its, then fear no more. Bethesda has announced that they will be pushing through a few patches very shortly. When the term shortly means, nobody knows. I have read many stories about the game crashing and bugs that just won't quit, but have only run into some frame rate issues. Nothing to get upset about really. Then again, I've only been playing for two days.

PS3 vs. 360 vs. PC

Well, I just got home from the store with my newly purchased collector's edition of Fallout: New Vegas for PS3 and I learn that the downloadable expansions will initially be exclusive to 360.

So if you are faced with the decision between PS3 and 360, you might want to consider the Xbox version. If you are content to wait a little longer for the content to come out, it doesn't matter, but personally I'm not very patient.

PC owners can take solace in the fact that they can create and download their own expansions for free. It should be a no brainer there, if you own a PC, get Fallout: New Vegas for PC.

    I can't wait until I can play this game. I have been playing the fallout series since I bought Wasteland on my Commodore 64 way back in the day. New Vegas should have all kinds of cool new stuff to shoot and more cool new stuff to blow up. I LOVE IT!

    Good stuff, Fallout is my favorite game series (alongside Shenmue), which makes New Vegas number 1 on my wanted list :) The gameplay vids are starting to roll out, which is awesome. p.s. Lensrolled this one to my FNV lens
