Fancy Dress Costume Ideas For The Letter G

Costume Ideas For The Letter G

Giving your guests a letter as a costume theme is quite common and can make for some very interesting ideas for costumes. You have a few options...

1) Allow guests to dress up in a costume related to their initials (or just first name if you want to narrow their choices)
2) Ask guests to dress up in costumes related to your initials
3) Choose 1 or 2 letters that they have to find a related costume for.

To be honest, when you first send out your invitations, many of your guests will be very confused as to what you are asking.

I would suggest that in the invitation you do give them a good explanation. If your guests are confused, they may not even attempt to dress up, or worse, not attend your party.

I would include some costume suggestions for various letters, just to get their brain cells working a bit. If you really want to help, why not print out this page, and my other hubs so you have a complete A-Z list of possible costumes.

In this hub we will concentrate on costumes beginning with G.

Look for links to my other alphabet hubs if you also need help for another letter. If you have any great ideas for costumes for the letter G, pop them in the comments box at the end and I will add them in.

Lets have a look at some costume suggestions for the letter G

type=textGangster
There are few criminals that get the adoration and publicity of mobsters. Gangsters are revered, feared, and hated all at the same time. The mythology that surrounds men like Al Capone and "Bugs" Moran, found it's foothold in the 1920's with the help of prohibition. The classic 20's gangster has a double breasted two or three-piece dark suit(usually pin-striped), black shirt, white tie, trilby and spats over black shoes. Traditionally he is armed with a machine gun, but any gun and shoulder holster should suffice. We stock gangster costumes to sell, or hire and have a large range of gangster accessories to either complete your costume, or to make your own outfit up at home.

Gangster's Moll
The mistress of a gangster. Either a pinstriped two-piece skirt suit to match male companion, worn with a long coat, beretand a gun. Alternatively 1920's flapper dress, headband and a feather boa. We stock both styles of 'moll' and supply all the accessories you will need to complete your costumes.

The reason this costume idea is so common is due to the simplicity of the idea, along with the comfort and the room. All you need for this idea is a toga and maybe a small amount of accessories to finish the costume off like a laurel leaf, a rope belt and some sandals (and you don't even need these really).
