This lens is for anyone who loved living in the 80s and maybe still is. The 80s was a great decade that left its mark in music, movies, videos, toys, politics, you name it, it was affected by the 80s.

Some might say it was good, some great, and even some naysayers but whether you loved dressing like Don Johnson or just wished that wearing socks would come back into style, living through the 80s altered your perspective on the world.

If you grew up in the 80s then you have even more great pop cultural influences to remember fondly. And hopefully this lens will help you relive those fond memories.

Visit our online store at www.FanOfThe80s.com for fun tees, shirts and gifts inspired by your favorite 80's movies, music, fads, sayings and slogans.

Top 10 80s Fashion Accessories

What everyone was wearing in the 80s.

If you think I missed something, leave a note in my guestbook. There may be a sequel to this list!
  1. Large Plastic Earrings. These were so big, it's a good thing they were plastic or our earlobes would have pulled off. They featured bright colors and wild designs.
  2. A belt with metal studs in it. Usually black or a neon color, this belt sat low on the hips and wrapped around at least 2 times. Matching studded bracelet optional.
  3. Big Hair. Guys, girls, it didn't matter. Big hair was of the utmost importance. Sales of mousse and Aqua Net probably made up 1/3 of the GNP during the 80s.
  4. Swatch watches - Anywhere between 1 and 3 could be worn comfortably at one time. Usually interspersed with various friendship bracelets, rubber or metal bangles. The Swatch Guard was another must.
  5. Parachute Pants - These comfy pants were only sold for guys unfortunately but were way cool because of their many zippers and comfortable, lightweight fabric.
  6. Hightop Sneakers - Was it the aerobics craze or the new superstar endorsements that made these huge. Reebok, LA Gear, Converse and Nike were the popular brands and usually worn with at least 2 pairs of multi-colored laces and scrunchy socks.
  7. Spandex - By itself or under a dress or skirt. Short or long, colored or patterned, apparel made of spandex was a major part of the 80s wardrobe. Probably the least missed fashion trend of the 80s.
  8. Hats - The rappers wore them turned to the side, the girls wore them pushed way back so their big hair could stick out (thank you Debbie Gibson) but we all had them.
  9. 1 Glove - Don't lie. We all idolized Michael Jackson for his music, dance moves and fashion forward attire. No one can properly moonwalk without wearing a single glove, preferably sequined.
  10. The Members Only Jacket - No list would be complete without this must-have fashion item of the 80s. The 80s was all about cliques and proving you were better than everyone else and there was nothing that said you subscribed to this way of thinking like the Members Only Jacket.

Featuring long forgotten but still great videos!

Cheestastic Goodness! Who didn't love Rodney Dangerfield?

Rodney Dangerfield - Rappin' Rodney

Remember this forgotten classic from 1983? He doesn't get any respect even in Heaven. R.I.P. Mr. Dangerfield. Look for cameo appearances by Father Guido Sarducci (Don Novello) and Pat Benatar.

Television in the 80s

The 80s continued the revolution of television as we know it. There were so many great series during this decade and they filled every genre. Probably the most popular genre for 80s television series was the Sit-Com or Situation Comedy. Also popular were the Detective and Crimefighting genres. It's great that fans of these shows can now enjoy them again remastered on DVD. I've compiled some selections from each genre below.
