This page is an attempt to put all of my FarmVille information in one place and to share my knowledge with you... I hope that you find this helpful. I'm still learning, but will share with you as I go along.
It seems that the most important thing is to:
(1) make money (coins) and
(2) earn experience points (xp points).

About Tractors!!
How to Buy and Use a Plowing Tractor
Step 1. Buy the tractor from the market, in a section located under the new "Tractor" tab.
Step 2. Place the tractor on your farm.
Step 3. Notice the fuel meter in the lower left-hand corner. It will decrease as you use fuel to tractor plow.
Step 4. Select the tractor icon from your menu by clicking on the plow tool and then selecting the tractor option.
Step 5. Plow the land by placing your pointer/arrow into the middle of a plot of land (a 2x2 grid) and click, as you normally do.
Note: You will plow 4 plots of land at the same time. Each tractor plow will cost -60 coins (as usual) and -4 fuel (which is new). Each tractor plow will add +4xp points (as usual).
Adopt a Brown Cow or Black Sheep in FarmVille
This picture is an example of a lost animal that has been posted to a friend's news feed.
When a lost animal (cow or sheep) wanders onto your farm, you are helping find a home for it; you "help" it by posting it to your Facebook page. Then, your friends can adopt it from you. You, in turn, have to watch for your friends to post lost animals, and adopt it from them via the "Adopt this cow (or sheep)" link on their post.
Timing is important. If you click too soon after it posts and then you won't get it. If you wait too long, then someone else will have adopted it. It's a challenge to adopt a lost cow (sheep), but that's part of the fun.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason on lost animal appearances. You just take them as they come.
Achievement Ribbons!
Farmers visting their farms on August 7 were welcomed with achievement ribbons. Visit your farm now to see which ribbons you have earned. Each ribbon comes with coins, experience points, and a surprise gift in your gift box.
Only small gifts like hay bales have been reported. A few rest tents have popped up too.
Note: Gift boxes can only hold 30 gifts. If your box is full of free gifts from your friends (animals and trees) then it may not be able to hold the achievement surprises.

Currently, farmers have to add friends to be able to expand their farm. If farmers are required to add even more friends to expand their farms again, then some farmers (facebook users) will be stuck with a small farm or be forced to invite strangers to their facebook account for the purpose of being Farm Ville neighbors.
What do you think?
Several other solutions have been suggested:
1. Buy "neighbor credits" via a regular credit card. Thus, expanding your farm without having to add real neighbors.
2. Require farmers to have certain things on their farm before they can build. For example, they might have to have a barn to get to a certain expansion level or a silo to get to another expansion level.

Coins can be earned in the game or purchased with your real-life credit card.Farm Cash can only be purchased with your real-life credit card. You can also purcahse extra Farm Coins with your credit card as well.
There is some controversy here because Zynga is charging players real money to use some aspects of the game. While this is a new feature for most Farm Ville players, this is not new or controversial in other Zynga game platforms such as Mafia Wars. Personally, I will probably continue to use the free portions of the game as the fee products don't really excite me that much.

** Updated - New Crop Withering Times **
There is a 50% cushion time during which your crops will start to wither.
Crops wither randomly, not in the order that you planted them.
Example:
Blueberries take 4 hours to fully bloom.
Blueberries will start to wither 4 hours after full bloom.
Blueberries will keep withering, bit by bit, for the next 2 hours (2 is 50% of 4).
As you can see from the chart above (see Harvest Profit Margins), blueberries can be very profitable... that is, IF you can harvest and replant them every 4 hours. Unfortunately, they also die quickly and can be a profit buster if you can't get to your computer to check on them.
Plant crops that you don't have to babysit as much if you cannot get to the computer every 4 hours or so.

Realistically you are not missing out on much by the fact that your finances do not allow you to spend on the site. Your request for more land can be done by adding additional neighbors which is free. Nothing in life is handed to you...if you really want something you need to go after it. Clearly respond to the people who are willing to add more neighbors on this site and increase your land size. 1. I like to play Farmville a lot; however, I am on a very tight budget and fixed income from Social Security Disability. Farmville is an important therapeutic mental exercise, entertainment and a source of socialization for me that I can do from my home. I am quite disabled and don't get out for socialization a lot. The only form of entertainment I have is playing Farmville. I have always had a ?black thumb,? but in Farmville I can build a pretty garden and grow things that would normally wilt and die (except when I don't remember when to go and harvest my plantings). I cannot afford to adorn my Farmville plot with a lot of buildings, decorations, or animals because I can't afford ?Farmville Cash? which requires the use of real money or a credit card (of which I don't have, and cannot afford) either.
2. Since I don't have actual money to spend on my favorite source of entertainment, I focus on ?smart farming,? good return on investment, earning experience points, mastery of crops, and ribbons. By using this approach, I add some color to my garden to make it pleasant looking and plant some things that take months to reach a breakeven point and earn me pure profit.
3. Once I have taken my plot of land as far as I can develop it I find that my Farmville coin riches are substantial. During the length of time it takes to fully develop my plot, I don't have many friends and I certainly can't ?pester? them to join Farmville since none of my few friends use their computer or time for gaming. My remaining family and friends are already doing Farmville. I don't want to penalized just because I don't can't become a salesperson. Your current requirements limit my potential to advance through my favorite game and they detract from my enjoyment because I am unable to engage in hard-sell tactics with strangers so that I can advance. It is insulting and depressing that I am unable to widen my garden plots, plant prettier plants, and purchase items that I like to have in real life. This game is therapeutic for me because I can build my dream home and better health within my imaginary Farmville land. I should not be limited because I am poor and don't have enough money or friends at this stage in my life.
4. It seems to me that it would be fair for me to use my time investment and shrewd farm development to spend a fairly large sum of Farmville coins to purchase an adjoining lot. On this new lot, I should be able to retain my level of mastery/expertise so I can grow the more exotic crops that I am interested in.
5. Having reduced my liquid assets it will take me a long time to build my savings back up. However, since I will have two plots, I will regain my purchasing power more rapidly than I originally did. The third lot, therefore, would be more expensive; perhaps 150% of what my second lot had cost me.
6. This logic continues until I have built myself the finest quality plantation that any person with a big bank account could achieve. However, to achieve this level of land ownership will mean that a player would have been faithfully farming for a considerably longer period of time than someone who could instantly gratify themselves with a credit card. I think that someone at this level having worked their way up from their boot straps should have houses and luxuries made available to them at a reasonably inflated price to purchase any item with Farmville coins. My fantasy farm should be available to me as it would be to anyone else except that I have to work harder because I cannot use a credit card for instant gratification, but my many additional hours spent running efficient farm should allow me to achieve the same goals with Farmville coins.
7. Zynga will suffer no losses, instead they will gain faithful fans while showing respect for those of us who are poor and unable to have a real job, but at least we don't have to feel like a second rate citizen in the Farmville community. There will always be many people with disposable income who can grow their farms quickly through their credit cards. As an ancillary benefit advertisers could purchase space on the Zynga game sites for financial institutions and debt consultants and debt negotiation.
8. You might even allow Farmville characters to be blind or disabled, have wheelchairs and service dogs or Seeing Eye dogs.
Non-discrimination is good public relations and people like to associate themselves with companies that change their guidelines simply because it is the right thing to do.

Maximize profits. If you are new, you will not have much coins. So (a) add neighbours so that you can visit daily and gain XP. (b) Plant strawberries and be aggressive on farming - harvest strawberries to begin with. Then, assuming you have more coins, start harvesting pumpkins. After harvest, take stock of the coins and identify number of plots you need: (coins/(cost of strawberries + 15) OR coins/(cost of pumpkins + 15). Plow those many plots and seed the same. For a limited time Swiss Chard gives good profits too. Maximize on plots - a regular size land can hold 144 (12x12) plots with some space around it. Use the remaining space for trees and animals that you can harvest. Do not buy decorations. If you get gifts, accept them if you have space (prioritize plots, trees and animals) otherwise size them.
Visit friends and neighbours once a day.

- I play farmville a lot but when a problem occurs, I cannot figure out who to contact. I try emailing Zynga or farmville and never get a response or even worse the email will not go through. Right now I have three neighbors who cause an error in my special delivery page if I do not delete them each time. I need to know how to delete these three persons or how to correct the transmission problem. Thank you

- Get rid of the Mastery board that holds up my machine as it takes a few seconds to load! and I HATE with a passion the crafting silo and the crafting shop... it takes too long to load and I am not willing to spend good bushels to make almost useless items when I could use it for making wines and pasteries... it takes too long for each step to make an item and finish it in the crafting shop let alone spending bushels... I got rid of the silo. It was a royal pain in the rear end.The fun part of the game is making goods and planting crops to make the goods... and building up my special things like the lighthouse cove, the haunted mansion, leprecaun tree and seeing each step when you finish

- I have added about 55 neighbors using the new program and these last two days I cannot send special delivery to a whole group of these neighbors. Is there a problem in the farmville programming and will it be resolved soon?

- I am totally disappointed w/ Farmville this morning. On my English Countryside, I tried to EXPAND to the English County using 5,000,000 of FV Cash and didn't get my Farm Expansion???? So there went all of my FV cash and hard work!!!
