I love your article and Harmony, the tabby, wants to know if fascinators come in kitty sizes. She gives your lens two paws up!

I would say that a fascinator is somewhere between a hair accessory and a hat! Lovely lens!
  • seriouslyafrolicious Apr 1, 2012 @ 9:11 pm | delete

Hi, I featured this page of yours on one of mine. It's not in a "featured lenses" module, but I added it at the end of the section on brit royalty hats by Philip Treacy. It is a section showcasing coloring pages on hats, and then I added at the bottom that Fascinators is something that mom and daughter can do together as a project. Anyhow the page has kid activities royal princess style located here http://www.squidoo.com/royalandprincessthemedfun

I think Fascinators are so much more classy than hats and i love them! Great Lens, Thank you.

I love the name! Great lens!
  • KilleenMcG Jan 5, 2012 @ 10:27 pm | delete
I AM fascinated! I actually made one of these a few months back and wore it proudly until I crushed it in my luggage. Forgot all about the endeavor of curling feathers with an old, blunt, dangerous knife! Thank you for reminding me to dig out my feathers and reacquaint myself with fascination. :) Now I have some new inspiration, too.

    Great Lens.

I've always thought, seeing them worn in old movies, that fascinators were very well named.
  • PTurner56 Dec 11, 2011 @ 3:07 pm | delete
Now that I've seen your lens, I will be thinking of ways to use fascinators. What a great accessory!
  • presentsandgiftsgalore Dec 10, 2011 @ 5:46 pm | delete

Yes, I love the retro look of fascinators. I'd like to try my hand at making some soon.
  • Winter52 Nov 15, 2011 @ 10:29 am | delete
Loved the line... :If you can sew buttons you can make a Fascinator." It looks like I'm in luck. They are sooo cute and I CAN sew a button!!

  • Lifeboost Nov 2, 2011 @ 6:50 am | delete
Wow, I didn't know these were a specific kind of headwear - I thought it was just putting some net or feathers in your hair lol. I think I might use one for a Christmas party! :)
  • nancycarol Nov 1, 2011 @ 2:02 pm | delete
I think these are "fascinating" and are an alternative for those who don't like to wear hats. Besides that, they look cute! Thanks for sharing a fun idea.
  • Mia-Mia Oct 26, 2011 @ 11:01 am | delete
As you can see from my avatar, I love hats (and fascinators, too). I do wear hats but haven't tried fascinators yet. I did buy the materials to make a fascinator during the time of THE wedding, but haven't yet attempted to make one. I should get busy, huh?
  • Wedding_Mom Oct 11, 2011 @ 3:54 pm | delete
Fascinators a great way to add mystery. I find them very chic.

  • LaraineRose Sep 12, 2011 @ 3:54 am | delete
Fascinators look very much like the Whimseys we wore in the 60s. A bit more fancy though. I really like the look!
  • RuthMadison Sep 11, 2011 @ 9:20 pm | delete
Cool! I never knew what these were called. I found one in Claire's the other day that is a tiny felt hat with a veil. I fell in love with it! I put it on, turned to my mother and said, "Isn't it fabulous?" She did not think so. She hates anything with a 1940s or 50s feel, while I love them :)
  • verkeerd Sep 11, 2011 @ 3:31 pm | delete
Never knew they had a name! Lovely lens!

I think fascinators are incredibly elegant and can really help to glam up an evening outfit. I will have to make a few purchases to add to my wardrobe!

Its great to see Kate Middleton wearing one, she will obviously keep wearing them. So it should become even more popular. Nice informative lens thanks.

  • MiaBellezza Dec 30, 2010 @ 8:37 am | delete
I've never worn one, but would love to while attending a special event, perhaps a wedding!
  • BigGirlBlue Dec 26, 2010 @ 9:07 pm | delete
I did not know that was what they call them. I can't wear them but some women look awesome in them.
  • Nibbled Dec 26, 2010 @ 10:01 am | delete
Didn't realize those feathered head pieces were called fascinators. The first one that pops into my mind is what Carrie wore on her wedding day in the Sex in the City movie. And the royals in the UK where them a lot to events. Thanks for the informative lens.
  • 23squidoo Dec 22, 2010 @ 4:47 pm | delete
I've read books in which fascinators were mentioned, but I didn't really know what they were. Thanks for clearing that up!
  • WhiteOak50 Dec 16, 2010 @ 7:44 pm | delete
I actually thinks these are pretty cool. They are different, unique and I have not heard them call Fascinators before. But you know these would really be cool to wear at a Halloween Wedding. Lensrolling over to my Halloween Wedding pages!!!
  • GonnaFly Dec 11, 2010 @ 10:33 pm | delete
Too funny. A friend was only just telling me about fascinators yesterday. Mmm - a double education!
  • MarleyK Dec 8, 2010 @ 9:55 am | delete
    Even the name sounds cool!
  • SofiaMann Sep 17, 2010 @ 9:46 am | delete
